Club activities had finished nearly an hour ago, but Haruhi was still in Music Room Three, clearing up the vast amount of cake crumbs around Hani and Mori's usual table.
Haruhi found it slightly weird that she was still here, that the host club was still in business. Tamaki had left for France a few months ago now, but they hadn't wanted to disband the club just because Tamaki had gone.
Haruhi didn't tell anyone, but she cried herself to sleep some nights, thinking of Tamaki. She had only fully realised it on the day he left, but she loved him. But despite how he had acted, she was sure that he never really loved her back.
He didn't look happy when Eclair pulled him back down as Haruhi fell from the bridge, but he could be happy now. He could be celebrating his love for Eclair at the most expensive and beautiful wedding, or he could be playing the piano for his mother and watching her smile radiantly at the sight of her son.
She wished that she hadn't called him stupid so many times, even though sometimes he really was. It made her annoyed that she couldn't apologise now that he was gone, or remind him of every moment they had shared, like when he comforted her during a storm. She would hate it if all he could remember was watching her fall as he drove away.
Almost all of her thoughts managed to lead to one thing. How she should have done more to stop him leaving. Maybe if she had told him how she felt or got him to stand up to his Grandmother, she wouldn't feel so lonely.
But she couldn't keep thinking that selfishly, could she? He might be happy, and she hopes that he is. After all, if it wasn't for Tamaki and the Host Club, she would still be the poor, boring, friendless honour student. He had made her much more happy.
As she finished wiping away the crumbs, she went over to dust the piano. It reminded her of Tamaki. She could imagine him and her now, sitting side by side as he played for her. It felt so real. But it never would be.
But at least now that he was married, he would be able to take over the Souh family business, and earn his Grandmothers respect. He can live in France again, and be near to his mother again.
She knew that she would hear his name on T.V one day, people discussing his successful life. If she couldn't have him anymore, at least his success would make her happy.
She brushed the last clump of dust from the piano and smiled, she knew that whatever Tamaki was doing, and wherever he was, he was happy, and that was good enough for her.
