I looked around the lunchroom. Chaos, as usual. The school was buzzing with excitement about some new girl. I had seen her earlier, boring, not very pretty, and she had a frightened look on her face. She seemed, strangely enough, almost as pale as I. As I am a vampire, though, it is not unusual. She, however, was defiantly not a vampire.
I began to think about being home with Emmet and my family
It's a lot more interesting than school I thought.
I suddenly thought of Royce. Why the hell I would think of him at a time like this, I have no idea.
I looked around and saw a beautiful blond girl with golden eyes. Her beautiful pale skin was perfect, I could tell the girl was perfect herself, even through the boys glasses I just saw her in. I knew this because the girl was me.
I began to doubt my beauty though. Royce wouldn't have abused me if I had been prettier.
My thoughts began to wander on how I was not very pretty when I remembered Edward. There was no way I was going to let my little brother read my thoughts! I quickly thought of my beauty, just to annoy him.
I saw him from the corner of my eye. My brother's bronze hair stood out among our blond and dark hair. He was the only one who was not married among us. His eyes were almost black from not eating anything for a week. They were focused on one person at our table.
I saw Jasper, my other brother, at the other end of our table. His eyes were black and hungry, like bottomless pits. They quickly went to being his normal quiet eyes.
I felt sorry for him, out of all of us he had the hardest time with his hunger. I saw his honey colored head look down with shame. His beautiful features contorted with shame.
Alice tried to comfort him, her small hand over his large one. She looked like a young child, a beautiful life sized doll, to the rest of us. She rested her black spiked up hair on Jasper's shoulder.
My eyes finally rested on Emmet, my "boyfriend" to the school, my husband to the family. His muscular arms rested on our table, they could probably break it in two in less than a second.
In a flash, his eyes went to mine, he winked and went back on looking at the wall.
I noticed Edward turning toward a table, he looked curious. Ugh, of course, the new girl, why he'd be interested in her, I have no idea.
I decided to put it out of my mind; it was not like he'll fall in love with her or anything.
