When she's sitting there downing shots, she doesn't expect him to strut into the seat right next to hers. He smiles ever-so-annoyingly, and says with a drawl, "I'm Kol, and you are?"

She almost laughs at this remark – does he not recognize her at all? Sure, it's a tad dark in this bar and her hair has gotten shorter (it barely even grazes her shoulders), but he should've been able to pick up on who she was. Nevertheless, it's been awhile.

"Why Mr. Mikaelson, don't you remember? My name is Caroline." She stares him right in the eyes as she smirks, "Caroline Forbes."

After a look of utter surprise, he composes himself to give off aloofness, "Well, well. Caroline Forbes, what ever happened to you in these past two centuries? I dare say, your hair…it's a bit, well…short."

His fingers lightly touch her blonde hair which causes her to grimace, "I was trying to enjoy my drink here…"

"Oh come on now, I can create all the fun! You looked so lonely far off in this corner. I could practically smell the desperation washing off you in waves." Kol remarked.

Caroline scoffs, twirling the shot glass in her hand, "Planned to make me a human blood bag?"

Caroline is trying to get rid of the twitchy feeling she started to feel in the pit of her stomach when he had started speaking to her. Why a Mikaelson? Couldn't it have been what – a Salvatore, like Damon? Anything would have been better than having to face one of the Original vampires. She had done so well evading them these past few decades. They always seemed to be coming back to bite her in the ass though – figuratively, mind you. Yet, Kol-the-oh-so-annoying-Original just has to ask her, "So…I suppose my brother's obsession for you ended? How long ago?"

He watches her perceptibly flinch at his words, and he almost feels sorry for having even uttered the words. Her voice turns into venom, "He's a monster."

Kol made a small cough, and gathered what little maturity he had in him, "Care to talk somewhere more respectable?"

Sardonically, Caroline rolls her eyes and laughs, "As if, little one."

She slaps some money on the counter for her drinks, and uses her vampire speed to run out of there. For the second time that night, Kol was too surprised to realize what happened. Yet, he feels a slight anger at her for calling him little (as if he didn't have a millennium on her). No one ever treated him like that, except his family. Smiling, he follows her into the night.

He'll enjoy this chase.

reviews make me happy. (; i might continue if i get struck with inspiration. i can't help but ship Caroline with practically every Original.
