"Hello!", a light cheery voice rang out through my head in this darkness.

"What's your name?", she said.

The boy sighed, and turned away.

"If you don't tell me your name, I'm going to kiisss yooouu", she taunted, getting uncomfortably close his face.

"GO AWAY!", he shouted.

She pouted, and said, "Just tell me your name and I'll go away."

"Fine. My name is Edward Elric."

A smile played her lips. "My name is Tear."

I scowled, and turned away. I turned around and far away she was standing there, a longing in her sky-blue eyes. She turned around, her brown hair swaying in the wind as she walked away.

"Brother, who was that?", his younger Alphonse asked.

"…Don't know…"

"I can't wait till mom is back!"

"Me neither." , Edward smiled at him.

A few days passed.

"You shouldn't do it."

Edward turned his head and said, "What are you talking about?"

It was Tear. Again.

"Oh. It's you. What do you want?" Ed scowled for the go away effect.

" Don't do it."

"DO WHAT?" this girl was starting to get on his nerves.

"The transmutation."

Ed's eyes widened.

"H-how do you…?"

"You aren't ready for the truth."

"?"

" I can help", Tear smiled.

"Okay then"

A few weeks later.

Water:35 liters. Carbon:20 kilograms. Ammonia:4 liters. Lime:1.5 kilograms. Phosphorus:800 grams. Salt:250 grams. Saltpeter:100 grams. Sulfur: 80 grams. Fluorine:7.5 grams. Iron:5 grams.

Silicon:3 grams. Those are just about all the ingredients. All that's left would be the DNA of a relative for the memory. And, part of your soul. I'm going to Mother, and won't be back. I suggest a teacher in Dublith who is the wife if the owner of the meat shop. I hope you bring your mother back.

Ed looked at this letter disdainfully. Al walked in, noticing the note.

"What does it say, Brother?"

"It's a goodbye note and instructions."

Al grabbed the note, quickly reading it.

"How can she leave at a time like this!", Ed shouted.

"I wonder where her mom lives…", Al mumbled.

"Wait…She doesn't have a mom!", Ed said.

His brow furrowed as he executed all the reasons she would write that down. It was inconclusive.

"Well let's go to Dublith.", Ed said.

"Let's pack tonight and leave tomorrow.", Al said, always reasonable.

"Looks like rain tonight.", Ed said, looking out the window.

"Yup.", Al responded.

That night.

"It's really pouring, huh?", Ed said to Al.

"We should probably help the villagers."

"Yeah."

The two brothers made their way down to the river, which was swollen over its usual size by about 10 feet, and what didn't go out, went over the barricade or through.

"You boys stay back it's dangerous!" "The village will flood!" "Mama I'm scawed!" "Everyone run! It's breaking!"

In all the confusion, the brothers were forced up to higher ground just before the barricade broke.

A woman with black hair and blue eyes strode past him, and a giant man with a angry expression on his face with dark hair and eyes.

"Ma'am, the barricade has broken! It's too dangerous!"

"That's why I'm going.", she replied coolly.

She clapped her hands together and slapped them on the ground. Light from her transmutation blinded most of the villagers, but the two brothers couldn't look away. A moment later there was a huge trench and wall, protecting the village.

The man who tried to warn her earlier stammered ,"H-how on earth-"

A woman shouted ,"Who are you?"

The woman smiled and said ,"Just a housewife passing through."
