My name is Katniss Everdeen
I am sixteen
I live in the Seam
In District Twelve
My father died in a coal mining accident
My mother works as an apothecary
My sister, Prim, helps her
Gale is my best friend
We hunt all day in the woods
Outside of the fence
Prim was chosen as a tribute for Panem's Hunger Games
I volunteered for her place
Peeta, the baker's son, is chosen for the boys
We will fight to the death
I don't know how I will kill him
He helped me when I was in need
We are in the arena
Fighting for our survival
We decide to create an alliance
I keep thinking
How will I kill him
I think I might love him
They announce there will be two winners this year
We are happy
We find the other tributes and kill them
The Game Makers revoke their decision
We rebel and try to commit suicide
They are mad and let us both live
Now I am in my house
Waiting out the time when the Capitol will strike
And kill everyone I love
Because I rebelled
