"I'm going to Broadstairs."
"Oh YEAH BROADSTAIRS ROCKS, COME ON, YEEHAH, YOU GO GIRL, ROCK ON."
I took a step back from my excited friend who was flinging his hand and cracking his fingers together for effect.
"Right, erm …. Thankyou for sharing my view on Broadstairs but … do you even know where it is?"
"OF COURSE I DO … it's in Cyprus innit?"
I slapped my hand to my forhead and shook it. "Yugi, only your bangs are blonde," I said gesturing despairingly.
"Well where is it then?"
"The south East of England. England! Y'know that little country in Britain which, when joined to Scotland and wales looks like father Christmas. England!"
Yugi stared at me for a long time, a frown sitting on his face; then it finally hit him what I had just said.
"OOOOH Riiiiight …… wot d'you wanna go down there for, it's all rainy all the time!"
I spread my arms wide indicating the downpour we were presently standing in and stared at him with a despairing look that said "duh".
"Yugi," I said, shaking my head, "this is the 4th storm this week, and it's only Tuesday!"
"SO?" Yugi said blankly.
"and you think Thanet is bad."
"Where's Thanet..?"
"Oh my God Yugi. I told you this like a gazillion times. It's part of Broads… oh never mind." I waved my hand despairingly and walked inside, closing the door behind me.
It took Yugi at least a minute to realise he was now locked out in the rain.
