note: Short poem about the last Elf to leave Middle-earth. Yada yada.

Beyond the Shore
Beyond the shore his eyes did stray
Too long had he been forced to stay
upon this land, and thus now he
yearned for the sand beyond the sea
With pain he found no longer could
he find his peace within the wood
He longed to take this final trip
following kin long gone by ship
Beyond the shore his eyes did falter
taking in more than just clear water
The scent of salt within the breeze
would calmly lull him into ease
Lightly stepping off of the dock
the boat beneath him would gently rock
Far above him the gulls would cry
while flying upwards towards the sky
Beyond the shore his eyes did wander
hoping to see what may lie yonder
Though with keen eyes, not even he
could view this land beyond the sea
Of all his kind, he was the last
and now his time had come to pass
The forrests seemed to glow no more
when the last Elf left for Valinor.
