The rain pounded on the Capsule Corp building as my blue eyes stared through lavender strands of hair out the window, my gaze staring into the dark grey sky. Lighting flashed, illuminating my room, a glimpse of a figure in my doorway. I turned my head to see my father, his arms folded across his chest. Neither a smirk nor scowl played his expressions. It was just a simple stare. I turned my attention back out the window, taking a moment to let out a silent sigh. The sound of boots scuffling across the plush carpet stopped as I felt a firm gloved hand lay upon my shoulder. I closed my eyes, my eyelashes becoming wet with tears.

"She..." My body began to tremble as my father did nothing but close his eyes, pulling me to his chest.

"She wouldn't want you sitting here sobbing like a child." I opened my eyes, raising my head. My father was staring outside, a blank look in his eyes. It was then I noticed he had stains of dried tears on his cheeks. My eyes grew wide as his eyes cut to me. They were puffy and swollen, much like mine. I frowned and faced forward, watching the rain come down on West City.

"What do you think...were her last thoughts?" My voice wasn't above a whisper, the calm and quiet sound of the night setting the rather depressing atmosphere. My father was silent for a moment before he took a deep breath, his arm tightening around my shoulders.

"That she loved us." I looked at him, his head turning slightly, our eyes meeting.

"I miss her so much..." I bit my lip, the tears becoming harder to hold back.

"I miss her too..." I blinked hard, a stray tear falling down my cheek.

"It would be easier just to end it—" He then embraced me, burying his face in my long hair. I felt my heart booming in my chest as I felt my father's body begin to shake.

"Father?" I spoke softly, my hands finding their way to his shoulders. His grip on me only constricted more.

"I've lost your mother...I can't lose my son, too..." My eyes grew wide. Was I really hearing what I thought I was hearing?

"I may not have showed it much...but I do care for you both...I care a lot..." I felt the hot tears begin to flow down my cheeks as I wrapped my arms around him, resting my head on his shoulder. I guess sometimes it takes a tragedy to reveal the good in people.
