It's not my best work but I can't stop playing this song and it screams Zelda. Don't own Zelda. Never will.
Orange, red and pink across the sky. The sun is going down. It's a beautiful scene. Almost a painting.
"It's going to end." Her voice sang. She picks up a flower from beside her and twirls it in her fingers.
"What is?" He tries to pretend he doesn't understand. He pulls at grass beside him.
"The world. The moon is going to fall isn't it?" She's not scared. She's excited.
"It looks--"
She pulls back his hair and puts the flower behind his ear.
"It's going to fall. I bet it's because of them."
Her eyes drift to the sky. The moon's starting to appear in the sky now.
She bites her lip. He says nothing.
"Are you afraid?"
His fingertips trace the ocarina in his pocket. She takes his silence as "yes."
"I knew it." She hits him with her shoulder playfully.
"Boys are always afraid." She looks up at the sky again.
"I'm not afraid." He narrows his eyes. He wants to tell her his secret. That's he's known her longer than two days.
"Mmm. Okay. Where's your family? You should be with your family when it ends."
Her eyes drift to the ranch house. Her sister is in the front. They wave to each other.
"I don't have a family." He looks down. He's never thought of being alone before. Not like this.
"No mom? Dad? Sister?" He shakes his head to all.
"You're alone?"
He nods.
"I mean. I have Epona and--" He trails off. He wanted to say Navi.
"Hm."
She looks up at the sky.
"You can sit beside me when the world comes down."
He holds onto his ocarina.
It's not the first time she's said that to him either.
