"Uhhhh, because cruises are romantic?"

Diego's skin was flaming with embarrassment. He roughly shoved Sid away from him and gagged. He rubbed his face in the snow on the side of the ship, trying to forget about what had just happened. disgusting, he raved and tried to get the taste of Sid off of his lips. Stupid Manny! Why did he have to turn the ship that fast?

The wails of the sirens still played in the background, but they weren't seductive anymore. Diego wanted to come out of his skin. He was so confused and on top of all that, he had seen Shira as his siren.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" he scolded himself. Well, good luck trying to convince the guys now. He was never going to live this down. It had been a moment of weakness. Her soft silver fur, beautiful sapphire eyes, the delicate stripes that ran all over…. He shook his head. Diego laid down on the ice and tried to settle his pounding heart. The thrill of almost being killed. Wow. that's one way to get an adrenaline rush.

Sid sat several paces away, looking back at the siren cove with sorrow in his usually cheerful eyes. Diego was having a mental argument with himself.

He's your friend, go say something to him!

Now's not a good time. It would be weird!

Shut up!

No, you shut up!

Great, he thought. now I'm acting like Buck.

He heaved himself up and went and sat down by Sid.

"She was perfect…." Sid looked down broken heartedly at a chunk of ice he was messing with. Diego sighed. "She wasn't real, Sid,"

"Yeah. I know. I'm never going to have a family," Sid hung his head. Then after a moment of silence he mumbled something Diego couldn't make out.

"What, buddy?"

Sid leaped straight up, sadness forgotten. He yelled at the top of his lungs, "DIEGO AND SHIRA SITTIN' IN A TREE, K-I-S-S-I-N-G-" Diego swatted at Sid. good thing Sid is stupid, he thought with a flash of brother-love and curled up several feet away, Shira's soft eyes gleaming in his dreams.
