This is a short something I wrote while season four was airing. I found it, dusty and forgotten on an old shelf, and thought I'd hold it up to the light and let the world have a look.

Saying Goodbye
"Doctor …"
She's leaving.
"I've been thinking about it, and …"
He knows before she says it.
"… I'm going home."
But, why?
"I had so many places I wanted to show you.."
He has to tell her.
"Thank you."
Seize the opportunity, now …
"Thank you,"
… while he has the chance.
"Donna Noble,"
Take the time to tell her what their time together has meant to him,
"It's been … really …"
Take the time to tell her what she means to him.
"You saved my life …"
Because sometimes,
"… in so many ways"
You only get two minutes.
