He dodged a pair of sneering clowns, trying not to panic.
"It's a country fair", his mind repeated, "everything's perfectly normal, right?"
His body shuddered, having his own opinion in this matter.
Where the heck was Dean?
He followed the noise of a commotion, the urgent need to find his brother removed by sudden worry.
The shouts were coming from a huge tent and he pushed behind the crowd at the flap.
Cheering and hooting drowned the sound of twenty people munching their way through piles of blueberry pies, his brother on the home stretch, his smile caked but beautiful.
