Chapter 1

He made no haste with his steps. His hands tucked under the pockets of his black coat and his expression remained stoic. A few minutes passed, he came to a halt and studied his surroundings. Before him was a town although unfamiliar, he ventured further within without rethinking of the other route. Something inside him told him to stay…his conscience? As if he had one…maybe? Irreproachable or not they the Genei Ryodan kill, to accomplish their goals. It has always been that way, until the bearer of chains sought for vengeance. Life is indeed a mystery. Predictions don't always unveil the truth.

"Two days have passed. Past memories cloud my mind as they intertwine and conflict with my own thoughts. Life has changed greatly. I may now know what the future brings…I'm ready to embrace of what lies ahead…Be it death or not…" He thought.

The town was quite busy with people hustling around. Quroro made his way inside a café and made short glances to his sides. He ambled towards a nearby table where he sat down comfortably. He simply stared at the glass window to his side with his fingers crossed.

"Um excuse me Sir."

Turning his head he stared at her. She stared back at his vacuous eyes. She felt her heart quicken.

"Yes?" He asked.

"I…I'm sorry. What can I get you?"

"I'll just have some coffee please." He smiled with eyes closed.

"Decaf, brewed, or instant?"

"Decaf."

"Thank you. I'll have it served in just a while." She smiled back.

Then 3 ruffians entered the small establishment. One cracked his knuckles, the other held

A jagged knife, and the third grinned. Suddenly everybody shifted his or her gazes towards the three.

"I smell big trouble." The owner said to himself.

The young lady was now serving Quroro's coffee when…

"Well, well."

The other customers left leaving only a few on their seats. The other two intimidated the rest so they hurried outside and peered through the glass wall eager to see the outcome of this situation. Quroro was the only customer left aside from the owner and the waitresses. Quroro acted as if the 3 never existed and was about to take a sip from his cup when suddenly one of the 3 slapped Quroro's wrist with the cup landing to the floor broken into little pieces. The coffee did spill on his coat…Whoops…

Author's notes: Me thinks this chapter is a bit short…Maybe I'll add a bit more or I create another chapter…anyways please R&R. Hmm…after watching the OVA I decided to finish this fanfic. I'm not much of a writer so please bear with my grammar usage.
