A/N: This is a one-shot I decided to post after receiving an assignment in English, to write a letter to either Johnny Cade or Dallas Winston in Heaven telling them anything you wanted in the persona of Ponyboy. I would have posted it sooner but my teacher gave them out today (after I begged her to give them back) the last day of full classes. Here's Your Letter
Dear Dally,
Well it's been about a week since the trial, and all the charges were dropped. Soda and I get to stay with Darry. Now that was a real relief cause if I got put in a boy's home on top of everything else, I would have lost it. The gang has been trying real hard to get back to normal but with Johnny gone, and then you gone, nothings simple anymore. Not even Two-Bit can get Soda out of the mood he's been in lately. His eyes man, they lost the laughter, the spark. Why'd you have to go and do that Dal?! Isn't it bad enough we lost Johnny, then you go and do that to us. I know you're thinkin' I'm a baby, but it's not fair! Yeah I know, Greasers always have it worse, I know the score just like my Mom. You know what? I never really considered you a close friend, just one of the gang. Ya know? But now that you're gone, well now I realize how much I'm gunna miss you. Oh yeah, and Johnny wanted me to have you watch a sunset, but it's a little too late for that now. Golly it sure was pretty today, I was watching it as I wrote this. You're gunna think I'm off my rocker but, if there's sunsets up there, watch one for me. Do it for Johnny. And say hey to Mom, Dad, and Johnnycake for me. I know you made it up there with them man.
