Hera

The grand hall of Olympus was packed with guests. Gods and Goddesses weaving in and out of each other, chatting, laughing, and showing off. Small skirmishes occurred occasionally when a few gods, got into an argument, and although usually I would throw the rowdy gods out, I refrained from doing so today. After all special occasions call for special circumstances. For all of these people were here to see one special little girl, Evanlynn. My first child in centuries was something I felt should be celebrated. But honestly, if I could go back I would have dismissed the idea from my mind the moment I had thought about it. I want to reverse time, fix it all. But I can't go back. The fates would never allow it.

I stood on the balcony watching Apollo and Hermes wave wine in front of Dionysus' face tauntingly. Dionysus' face was red in anger, but with me watching over head he didn't try anything. Poseidon was arguing with Hades over the usual things, Hades complaining about the recent disease outbreak in Africa leaving Judgment Pavilion crowded, and Poseidon arguing back half-heartedly about how easy Hades had it. The minor quarrels didn't bother me, but something did. It had been a while since there had been a major attack on Olympus, and the peacefulness of it all was unnerving. There are always enemies, sometimes they don't show themselves, but they are always there. Waiting for a chance to get what they want. Some seek revenge, others seek power, or money. Whatever their motives are today they could attack, and today would be the perfect circumstances. Security was tripled and multiple guards were stationed at each exit. However, gods are unpredictable and anything could happen. The very thought made my palms sweat.

I went to wipe my palms, but before I could a pair of strong, callused hands slid into mine. Looking up I saw a pair of electric blue eyes gazing at me kindly. His eyes were usually filled with anger, and control, but today all I could see was happiness. Zeus ran his fingers through his dark hair, and looked at me with a crooked grin on his face, which quickly turned into a frown, seeing the worry in my face.

"She'll be fine, nobody is going to hurt her. Aphrodite and Hecate are tending to her now" Zeus said trying to be assuring. I smiled shaking the nerves, squeezed his hand, and led him out to the main floor

Hecate

"Oh isn't she cute!" exclaimed Aphrodite leaning in to give the small girl a kiss on the forehead. Faking a smile I nodded slightly and pretended to be rather interested in my drink. Evanlynn laughed a bubbly laugh and small sparks flew out of her fingertips.

"Are you gonna be a daddy's girl, Evanlynn? I think you are, oh yes you are" Aphrodite squealed in a high pitched voice.

I groaned. "She's a person, not a kitten you know" I said mockingly.

"Come on, isn't she precious" Aphrodite argued back. Seeing I was annoyed Aphrodite gave me a big grin, picked up Evanlynn, sat her down in my lap, and said, "I'll go get more drinks, you two make friends."

She skipped down the hall leaving me with a month old child, and feeling annoyed. But suddenly I grinned, not a happy one, but a devilish one. Little did Aphrodite know that she had left me with the perfect circumstances; surrounded by a bunch of drunk minor gods, who couldn't even save themselves, never mind the small unnoticeable child.

I looked down at the girl's milky white face, bright blue irises, and a small patch of chocolate brown hair on the top of her head. She looked so much like her father, and suddenly I felt a burning feeling in my stomach, one that I was well familiar with; revenge. In a split second an idea popped into my head, and a perfect one at that.

I stared intensely into her eyes and glared. It was time for revenge. Many centuries ago when the gods took over, Zeus had banished my mother, Nyx, to Tartarus, along with most of the others who had ruled. Since then Zeus hasn't left a second of sleep over the pain he caused my mother.

I looked at Evanlynn in the crystal clear irises with a wicked look in my eyes. Muttering under my breath I whispered the darkest curse I know, and one that I went through lots of trouble to obtain. Suddenly, there was a large clap of thunder, the lights went out, and all of Olympus shook. Evanlynn cried out and sent a wave off electricity through me, so I set her down quickly. In the moments of chaos that followed I ducked out of the room, and fled discreetly.

Moments later, in the pits of Hell the fates watched as a young goddess' life cord shortened, and the golden seal of immortality that encased it shattered, leaving only the red cord of mortality.

Zeus

The walls shook and I felt the feelings of anxiety and anger begin to rise in me. The entire hall of Olympus was filled in chaos; people were running, shouting, and minor gods were fleeing the scene in fear that they were under attack. There was no way I would be able to find out who caused the commotion, or find Evanlynn….

EVANLYNN! The moment of forgetfulness and stupidity annoyed me greatly and my slight feeling of anxiety were replaced with a new-found state of panic. An attack on Olympus today could only have something to do with Evanlynn. I scanned the crowd looking for any sight of my daughter, but couldn't find her. I saw the sight of an anxious Hera, who must have had the same idea of me. I rushed to the Meeting Hall, reached behind my throne and pushed the emergency evacuation switch, and in an instant all the remaining minor gods were teleported out of Olympus, and back to their original destinations. Only the Olympians were left, making it much easier to find Evanlynn. Tucked away in the corner sat the little girl crying, and scraped up.

I scooped her up, and immediately I knew something was wrong. Her breathing was ragged and her scrapes hadn't healed as quickly as they should have. Any god or goddess wouldn't still have cuts even after a matter of minutes. And then I noticed something. Her eyes were white. Entirely white. After a few seconds the color was drained back into them, but then I noticed a gash going down her small, delicate arm. Upon closer examination I realized the cut wasn't dripping ichor, but instead blood. Mortal blood.

My face drained of color, and upon seeing with the Olympians crowded around me. Hera took a small step forward, fearing the worst, and asked, "What's wrong".

I turned around to stare her dead in the eyes. "Evanlynn in mortal".
