Closed off from the World

Chapter 1

Asha Vagg

Doors slammed and voices yelled. A small girl cried slilently in the corner of a room. Every time a door slammed or someone yelled she would cringe. Her long black hair stuck to her tear stained face. She rocked back and forth slowly. The voices rang loudly in her ears.

The doors made her floor shake. He knees were pulled close to her chest and her head rested gently on her knees. "Please. Make them stop. I can't take it anymore. They never stop. And if they do they take it out on me." she cried, softly. The little light in the room, illuminated the bruses n her arms and legs.

Tears sreamed from her eyes and down her face. Her shoulders shook with her sobs. "They'll never stop. I'll never get away from all the slamming, yelling and pain." she whispered. She slowly stood to her feet, shakely, using the wall for support.

She walked, unsteadily, over to her bed and sank down onto it. She laid down and faced the ceiling, tears now trickling down the side of her face. She pressed her hands to her face and sighed.

"Screaming, yelling, slamming, hitting. Is that all my life will ever be?" she whispered, tears still streaming from her eyes. She rolled onto her side and stared at the wall. She heard someone knock on her door but she remained silent.

They never bothered her if she was asleep but if she was awake them they'd bother her. She was safer asleep than awake. She heard the door close and her father mumble as he walked away from her room. She slowly let out a sigh of relief. She was safe for now.

But it probably wouldn't remain that way. She's never be truely safe from all the fighting and yelling. Come to think of it she didn't even know what her parents fought about. They always told her to shut up and go to her room whenever she was brave enough to ask them.

Asha just sighed and stared at the wall in front of her. "Nothing will ever change. I'll be locked up like this for the rest of my life. And since I'm only 11 will be a very long time." she whispered before she slowly fell into a true sleep.
