Disclaimer: J.K. Rowling owns the characters and places. I just make them interact with each other differently.

The Yule Ball is not what Pansy Parkinson had expected. A more elegant and mysterious affair that would leave you in a breathless, dream-like state was what she dreamed of. Instead she is stuck in the Great Hall, suffocating in a pale pink robe with Draco Malfoy being just as smothering with his icy presence. She had spotted Hermione Granger earlier and just about fainted. The know-it-all she abhors and adores appears quite respledent when she wants to be.
Pansy notes (with malicious delight) that Hermione has detached herself from the lump of muscle that is Viktor Krum. The Slytherin girl chooses to make her Yule Ball a reality, at least for her and one other. Hiding herself with a non-descript face mask, she grabs Hermione's hand and leads her into the throng of dancing couples. Hermione is captivated by Pansy, knowing but not registering her identity. The latter smiles and twirls her companion around the room at an alarming pace. Their eyes never move from the other's and eventually Pansy slows them down, an affectionate smile gracing her lips. Hermione returns the smile and internally marvels at not caring about what gossip will surely pass from people's lips after this evening. She becomes vaguely aware of Ron and Harry's eyes boring into her as Pansy's lips are on hers, seducing her mouth with a tender yet domineering kiss. A soft chuckle threads its way to Hermione's ears as the pug-faced teenager pulls away from her. Her trademark holier-than-thou smirk reveals itself and she quickly dissolves into the masses.
Back in the Slytherin dormitory, mask resting on her nightstand, Pansy is filled with the satisfaction of making the night what she wanted. Still stuck in her dreamy trance, she collapses on her bed and traces her lips with a faint smile, knowing that elsewhere in the castle, Little Miss Mudblood is doing the same.
