Random little oneshot. Written in Ally's POV. Set about 5-ish years in the future. Hope you like it!
At first I didn't know what to think when I got his text. I mean sure, my boyfriend can be pretty random at times; anyone who knows Austin would confirm that in an instant. But when I get a text that simply reads Come here, I have a surprise. I got a little worried. Half of the time his surprises were something silly, or something that usually ended up broken. But when I walked down the stairs, My confusion just grew.
"What is this?" I asked.
"We're gonna play a game!" He replied enthusiastically.
"Austin, I don't really want to play a game. I have other stuff I could do."
"Please? You won't regret it, I promise"
Austin and I had been living together for a few months at this point. We had a one story beach house just big enough for the both of us. It was actually a really nice place, as Austin's music career had really taken off. Our usually nice living room was full of a strange assortment of random pillows and blankets and baskets and chairs.
"What kind of game?"
"A race! I thought it up all by myself! I'm gonna set up an obstacle course in the front hallway for you. And you're gonna tie me up, and I'll try to escape while you go through the obstacle course. Whoever gets done first wins!"
All I could do was laugh. "Why?" I finally asked.
"Because it's fun and spontaneous and why not on a rainy day?."
After a minute or two of debating, not to mention his constant pleading, I finally gave in. "Okay then." And with that he set up the obstacle course. I had to hide in the living room and wait for him to finish. about 20 minutes later, he returned. I had him sit on the floor in the middle of the room. I tied his hands behind his back, and blindfolded him, and wrapped him up in a bunch of blankets. I made it really tough on him.
"Okay," his muffled voice came through the multiple blankets, "go around to the front of the hallway. If you can get through my course before I can escape, then you win. If I can escape first, then I win. Ready?"
"Ready!" I replied when I reached the front of the hallway.
" 3, 2, 1… GO!"
So I started through with his course. He had me crawl through things, and jump over stuff, ad even had a laser course with yarn set up. Part of me really wanted to cheat, but I wanted to win fair and square. I hurried as fast as I could through his course. When I reached the living room, I was happily surprised to see him still sitting under the blankets. I ran up to the him, ripped the blanket off of his head, and was about to scream that I won when I noticed something.
He wasn't tied up anymore.
And he was on one knee.
"Ally, I actually didn't just come up with this. I've been planning this out with some time now. I just wanted to let you know that I've liked you for the longest time. I've loved for quite some time too. I'm so happy we got this place together, so we have somewhere to spend the rest of our lives. Because I know now that I don't want to live one more day of my life without you in it."
He reached behind his back and pulled out a tiny black box. He opened it to reveal the most beautiful diamond ring I've ever seen. He took my hand, looked me straight in the eye and said,
"Ally, will you marry me?"
It was that day that my boyfriend of four years became my fiancé. And one more year later, he became my husband.
And here we are today, married for five years with two kids. And we couldn't be any happier.
So here's what I have to say about this story. If your boyfriend wants to play a stupid game, just do it, cause you will enjoy it. =]]
Yay! Auslly fluff and cuteness. Review and let me know what you thought! Thanks, and God Bless =]]
