Hello. I'm The Kobayashi Maru, nice to meet you. This is my alternate account for for slash stuff, so this isn't my first fanfiction. Don't treat it as such. I love concrit. I'm sure, though, that if you know my writing, you'll recognize my formatting.
This piece was pretty experimental. I was playing around with the present tense. I'd love to hear what you think.
Just as it is
"Jim hooks up with a new alien woman about once a week."
Jim hooks up with a new alien woman about once a week.
He says he loves every one of them, but only in the dictionary meaning. Jim felt real, true love, and he knew that the shallow emotions that he felt for each of those women was not even a fraction of what he felt for Spock.
Spock.
Do not mistake him. Captain James Tiberius Kirk is not in a physical relationship with his First Officer, Commander Spock.
It started on Delta Vega. Having just been stranded on the ice planet for mutiny, he met Spock. The first Spock, the one who (in all technicalities) was at fault for the situation they were in.
They mind-melded and he felt what could be. He felt the emotions. He felt the love, loyalty, and complete devotion. He felt the deep attachment and somewhere he can feel the other James Tiberius Kirk's equal feelings for Spock.
"So you do feel emotion?"
It's all he can do from suffocating in the older man's feelings.
He is twenty-six by the time Spock started treating him like a captain he didn't have a past with all the time. He is twenty-eight by the time they became friends. He is thirty by the time Spock, his Spock, returned Jim's love.
Spock is in a relationship with Uhura when he tells that captain how he feels for him. He does not actually tell, exactly, but shows him. "My mind to your mind." My thoughts to your thoughts. They are never apart again.
They grow. They grow and they grow. They feel more, they feel deeper.
James Tiberius Kirk has never kissed Spock with his lips, but they kiss with their hands as any respectable Vulcan does.
Jim thinks… no, Jim knows that Vulcan kisses are hundreds of times better than human ones. He feels Spock joining with him and they are, if only for a moment, one full, complete being.
They never do more than touch, hold, or cuddle. Nothing thrills either of them more than to wake up in each other's arms, limbs tangled and fingers clasped together under the warm blankets in the captain's quarters wearing their most comfortable sleeping clothes. Each morning they troop into the bathroom and take their shower, eyes locked together the entire time.
They go about their day as if nothing is wrong, unless, of course, something is wrong— but more in a general, ship-wide sense. There is almost never anything wrong in their relationship. They touch often enough that they know the other is there; their hands brushing in passing in completely routine situations.
The only raised eyebrows they had ever received was from Bones, who had realized what was going on quickly enough, but the rest of the crew remains clueless as to what their captain and his first officer felt for each other.
Spock kisses Uhura on the lips.
