"Don't worry you two! This will be a great new start. New friends, new town..a father." Caitlyn told Craig and Emma. The two were teenagers, and also were siblings and right now, parentless. Their mother took off and abandoned them with no reason just 6 months ago. Now Craig and Emma were being sent to a small town to live with their unknown father they've never met nor even heard of. As they entered the Town of Woodsman Creek, it was sunny and inside California but in a dead small part of town. The two were use to the city of Toronto, but looked as if this was going to be very different

Craig was older than Emma by a year, she being 16 and him 17. To be honest, he coulda just ran from all of this, made his own life, he coulda with the talents he had with music but he loved Emma. Even before being parentless, he was always protective of her. Little did he know, they were entering the town of trouble.

"Your father's a good man" Caitlin said while driving. Craig and Emma shared looks in the back seat and Craig snickered, rolling his eyes.

"Such a good man he leaves his kids?" Craig taunted and Caitlin sucked in a deep breath. Emma wore tight blue jeans and a snug long sleeve white top and played with the ends of it nervously..Nervous habit. She was usually a talkative girl, an activist and feminist actually but this even had her tongue tied.. she thought this whole time that their father was dead. Least that's what their mother insisted..ofcourse.

"I'm sure there is an explanation. " Caitlin shot back, turning the car down a road, "Plus, wouldn't you rather be with your father then trying to find that mother of yours?" she asked

"Thanks for that" Craig sarcastically said. This woman just made them feel better and better about their lives (Sarcasm). Emma giggled a little beside him, passing him a small look to just shut up. Caitlin was clearly somewhat of an idiot.

"I'm sorry guys, what I meant was..this could be a happier family" she insists. These kids' mother, lets just say, was a drinker. Yet somehow, these kids grew up alright and Emma was smart as hell let alone they were a good looking family. This could be their second chance.

"I'm sure it will be" mummered Craig, looking out the window. The car finally stopped and Emma looked out the window too, a nice big grey brick house with a red door. "come on" Craig told Emma while picking up his and her bag, and his guitar. She grabbed a box and stepped out of the car with Caitlin ahead of them as she knocked on the door.

No answer.

She tried again.

No answer.

"Well, it was a good try!" Craig beamed and turned, Emma even laughed, watching him turn to go but Caitlin grab the back of his shirt and opened the door herself.

"Great! It's unlocked!" she told them, nodding Emma in to the follow.

Emma looked around nervously and at them just walking into a house uninvited, "I think we should wait out here or try back later."

"Emma it's your father, not a stranger." Caitlin opened the door wider for her and looked around, "Oh look, see!?" she pointed to a photo on the wall. Emma squinted her eyes since still outside and had to glance hard into the house to see the photo.

Craig walked to it with a look of confusion and looked over his shoulder, "It's us." he told Emma.

Emma swallowed a lump in her throat. She felt a horrible feeling but stepped inside anyways, closing the door and then gasped until Caitlin put a light on. She then turned back to the picture and nodded, "It is us." she whispered. He had photos of them? Baby them? She was 3 while Craig looked 4, both building sand castles with their mom. Emma smiled sadly and looked down-

"Hey there." they all whirled around, and a dark shadow came down the steps until into the light. Their father. Tracker Nelson. "I didn't hear you come in, sorry."

Emma looked at him closely. He looked good for his age, and definitely seemed like a musician like Craig with his guitar pick on his chain necklace along with his army dog tag from the war her mom use to say he was in. Did Emma mention he looked good for his age? In his 40's and he looked maybe early 30s. Thick blonde hair, but curlyish like Craig. And tall like both of them, they always wondered where they got the height cause their mother Spike wasn't tall at all. Quite petite.

"Sorry we broke in." Craig bluntly said, trying not to look so wide eyed at their long lost dad.

"It's fine, it's your house now." he smirked a bit and Craig looked around, wide eyed again that this was their home. It was a big house, not like their usual apartment.

"I'll let you guys get caught up." Caitlin smiled happily between the family.

"Caught up?" Craig had to repeat with a snicker, "Don't you mean, get introduced?"

"Hi Craig, I'm Tracker. Your dad." Tracker said somewhat tauntingly but playful, knowing Craig was probably bitter but it'd make sense soon once they had 'the talk' on why he wasn't allowed to know them.

Emma even giggled a bit as she even noticed Craig try not to smile back but unlike their mom, I guess their father had some slick humor.

"Bye guys!" Caitlin waved.

They awkwardly stood next to another, until looking back to Tracker who walked more into the light and grinned, clapping his hands together, "whose hungry?"

"Starving." Emma admitted with a nod.

"I could eat a whale." Craig confirmed while following her follow Tracker.

After they ate, in a bit of silence, other than Emma trying to be polite and fill Tracker in with her schooling.. they decided to take a tour of the house. Tracker told them basement was theres and also the main floor, but upstairs was his bedroom, bathroom and office...which was fine, why would they wana go up anyways? Then, when the sun was a bit down, Craig and Emma snuck to the back to notice a pool.

Emma giggled, running back inside with Craig and actually for once excited, and they stood tall and straight when Tracker came in and raised an eyebrow, "what?" he then saw the back door open still and smirked, "You wanna have a late night swim?"

"I'llgetmybathingsuit!" Emma said it so fast they barely heard her and she ran past with Craig chuckling and going to follow.

Tracker stepped in his way and Craig stopped abruptly. Tracker looked to Craig and whispered, "I understand if you don't like me, but we're family. And you don't wanna make it harder on your sister with your mom already being gone." he gave Craig a serious look, "Lets try to make the best of this alright? I'll give you your space.. but give me respect in return."

Craig swallowed, but nodded slowly and shrugged, "Sure, I can do that." he nodded and went around him, "Just as long as we're both clear that I don't like you."

Tracker watched him go and then looked down, snickering a bit but nodded. Deserved that. "Hey!" he called one last time and Craig turned before going down the stairs, "You start school next week."

Craig sighed unhappily but nodded. Then left. Emma was in her new room, surrounded by white walls and silk black sheets one her bed that she had to just jump onto and sigh. She smiled softly, looking up at the glow and the dark stars on her roof. Her old room had that when she was little...she wondered if that was coincidence or not. She sat up and then frowned as she began to think about how next week would go. New school, new friends, no more old friends nor her best friends from home. She had also dumped her ex but to be honest, he wasn't a good boyfriend anyways. She was probably down to one of the last girls in school who haven't given it up and he kept pressuring. . but she was waiting for 'the one' and he definitely wasn't it. Nobody seemed to catch Emma's eye like that, she was beginning to think that love people gushed about, didn't exsist.

She looked up as Craig entered the room, "Come on, lets get out of here" he confirms

"where are we going to go?" Emma asked, confused. She thought they were gonna swim but Craig had on his leather jacket and she shrugged, getting up and jogged after him down the stairs.

"Check the town out" Craig shrugged and opened the front door. It was getting dark, but she nodded and then stopped.

"Should we tell D-. ..Tracker?" she asked.

Craig snickered and shook his head no before shutting the door on Emma's worried face. Craig might be quite the rebel, but she wasn't, not really, not unless it meant protesting or something but not fights..
