Love you like a brother I tried to make it clear
You are my saviour, you fought away my fear
You brought sun in my soul, your presence made me strong
Somewhere along the line I failed my only friend
Somewhere along the line I failed to recognize
When I was close to you this sparkle in your eyes
The tiny warning signs you were trying to send
I let you too close and must pay for my mistake
But for my punishment your poor heart has to break
And you are innocent, this life is so unfair
Because my love is back and I have to follow
I know for you it's harsh it is the hardest blow
Hurting you is something that I just cannot bear.
