Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or the stories. JK Rowling does. I am unfortunately not that amazing.

This is my first story and as a warning not everything will conform to canon. The characters may act different but the big events in the plot will (hopefully) still happen. I will be happy to accept all forms of review but try and keep any flames to a minimum. After all there is a good reason this is called fan fiction. If you cant accept this you may not want to continue reading.

Note: This first chapter and the inspiration for the story is derived from the song Chase the Wind from Brave (Great song!)

Prologue

The sun was just beginning to rise over the moors. Its light making the dew on the long grass flash like liquid fire.

Hooves pounding on the ground, making the ground rumble with thunder.

The wind rose and whipped playfully across the moor. Teasing the grass into dancing with it.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Faster and faster. Daring the wind to keep up.

The sky was slowly reveled showing a pale clear blue like a clear shallow lake. Pure white clouds keep the sky company and joined the wind in its dance.

Faster. Faster. Flying across the ground. Climbing the rolling hills. Never slowing. Chasing the playful wind.

With a final heave the sun finished rising from its bed and greeted the day properly. Chasing away the last of the darkness and bathing the world in warm, golden light. However there was still a spot of blackness on the moor that no light could chase away. It belonged to the black horse responsible for the thundering ground as he chased the dancing wind.

This horse was not a regular animal. For one this horse was completely alone. There was no herd around the area for 50 miles and hadn't been for centuries. The second indicator was the intelligence gleaming in the horse's eyes as he raced over the land. This horse, black from tail to nose, was none other than newly discovered (for him) wizard Harry Potter.
