Tsuna sighed, opening the door to his small, run down apartment. He lightly tossed his school bag to the ground, and sat on his bed. With his hands, he rubbed his face as thoughts and memories flashed in his head.
The thoughts, those memories, all connected to one thing-
The death of his mother. Today... was the anniversary of his mother's death.
It was a nice day, you could say. The sky was clear and blue, almost like a endless see of light blue. All in all, the day was rather... normal for a summer day. It was quiet and peaceful, as if the world had no problems.
Except... there were moans, terrified screams, cries of help, pleads and begs that all blended together to create a horrible harmony.
Sawada Nana struggled in a man's grip. "Please! Please let go of me! I-I'm not your 'Dear' or 'Wife'!" She cried.
"Shh... Shh.. it's okay, my dear. I still love you..." The man whispered, pulling Nana closer and hugging her. He sniffed her hair. "I still love this smell; it's a lot better than that... whore's." He growled out at the end. "I shouldn't have left you for her..."
Nana cried harder. "I-I don't know what you're talking about! Please! Just leave me alone!" She finally felt the man loosen his grip. She looked up warily, looking to see who was the assaulter. However, she saw ferocious eyes that glazed with whatever fantasy he was living.
"What do you mean, 'I don't know what you're talking about'!? Don't you remember me! Mikashiba Tatsube!? Y-Your husband!?" When the man saw Nana shaking her head, he growled.
Nana whimpered as she felt her back hit against the wall. When she looked to the side, she saw a bright glint. "Pl-Please! I-I-" She started, finally realizing what that glint was. "Help!" She cried, bringing her hands towards her face as she sobbed.
"No one..." Mikashiba started slowly. "No one is going to help you..."
All the while this was happening, a small, just only 10 years old, kid with brunette hair cried as he hid behind his window curtains. His mama, a-and that stranger was outside in the front yard! H-How are the neighbors not hearing this!? The young boy, named Tsuna, tightened his grip on the curtains. His eyes were filled with determination as he let go and ran downstairs.
He was going to save his mama! No one is going to hurt her under his watch!
As fast as he could without tripping, Tsuna dashed to the kitchen, opening the drawers until he found his weapon. 'I'm sorry mama, I'm sorry I have to break a house rule! B-But I have to protect you!' Tsuna thought as he found a large kitchen knife. He inspected it, nodding at how sharp it was. 'T-This will do!' And, with a loud thumping heart, the young Tsuna ran out to the slightly opened door-
Only to stop at the sight. An iron scent filled his nostrils as Tsuna gasped, tears once more starting to fall. Crimson liquid was everywhere, on the man, on the grass, e-even on the fence. O-On his... Mama. It was on her face, her chest, her blouse- Why!? H-He was too late! W-Why wasn't he quicker!?
The man turned to the sobbing mess of a child. His narrowed eyes softened. "Are you my child?" He asked. When Tsuna didn't reply, the man followed his gaze, and noticed he was looking at Nana. Mikashiba quickly moved to his left, covering the bloodied face. "Are you?"
Tsuna lifted his head and stared at Mikashiba straight in the eyes. "You- You're not my father! Papa as blonde hair, not black!" The angered brunette tightened his grip on the knife. "Even if you were... a father would not kill his beloved wife!" He cried, raising the knife. He ran towards Mikashiba, crying out in anger.
Mikashiba could only stared wide eyed as he saw Tsuna come running towards him with the knife. "W-What are you-!"
*Shlack*
Mikashiba tilted his head downwards, gaping at the knife pierced in his chest. Pain was the only thing he felt as he heard Tsuna cry harder.
"Papa loves Mama a lot!" He stabbed once more, this time on the right lung. "Papa would never hurt Mama!" He stabbed again. "He would never hurt his precious family!" And again. "You're. Not. My. Papa!" And again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
By now, Mikashiba was bloody, large gashes squirting out blood, but Tsuna never noticed. His mind was haywire. Jumbles of memories of his mother flashed through his eyes, fueling his anger. He cried harder, not noticing Mikashiba was dead. He wanted to let his anger out. His hate.
After what felt like hours, even days, did Tsuna finally stop. His clothes were stained red and splotches of red on his small, chubby cheeks. His eyes... they lost their shine. What used to be full of innocence and purity, was now replaced corruption. Tsuna sat there, tears still streaming down his face. The cries were silent, but slowly, they formed to sniffles, to hiccups, to... wailing of sorrow. Tsuna brought his knees to his head, wrapping his legs with his arms.
"Mama..." Tsuna whispered. He turned to his mother, hesitantly crawling closer to the cold body. "Mama... I'm sorry..." He whimpered once more, lifting Nana's once warm hands into his lap. "I'm sorry you had to die..."
Tsuna smiled grimly at the memory. After that, it was just a blur. The Vindice - The "Police" of Namimori - came in with their chains and took him away to the Forbidden Roads. They gave him a rather okay place to stay, and provided him food. Tsuna could only guess that they supplied him because he was just ten. They then told him how he was going to stay here for the rest of his life - unless he helps them in some way.
What he had to do? He didn't know. He was helpless - he couldn't do anything to save his life, or others - there was no hope.
Tsuna shook his head. "I should - I should take a walk... Just forget about everything..." Tsuna sat up again. He stood up and walked to his backpack, emptying the contents except for his notebook and pencils. The brunette nodded in content and patted his pockets to check if he had his keys. "Good... I'll be back soon." He whispered.
And with a *click* the door was shut and locked.
Drawing was the only stress reliever for Tsuna, as strange as that sounds. Every stroke he made was filled with emotions he couldn't express, for he didn't have anybody to express his feelings to. He was all alone in this world.
What about his father? His father went missing when he was eleven, not like he cared. Iemitsu was never there for him like how a father should. Sure, he visited from time to time, but he just sat on his lazy ass and got drunk all day. And him being a construction worker? Psh, yeah right. If you're going to send a post card, make sure you don't take pictures of you with penguins. Damn bastard.
Tsuna's strokes got darker, deeper, as he continued thinking about Iemitsu, and his anger increased when he thought about how he wasn't there when Nana died. For kami-sama's sake! He was visiting them that day! He was out drinking at that time...
"Damn it..." Tsuna swore. He looked down at the bottom of the drawing, the part he was erasing. "I ripped it..." Quickly, he went into his pencil case and searched for his tape. When he finally took it out, Tsuna pulled a piece out, tilting the piece down to rip it and stuck it on the drawing. "That... should be better." He told himself.
Tsuna lifted the notebook and compared it to the scene in front of him. The drawing looked quite nice, other than the part he ripped. "I kind of like this. The scene is... warm." Smiling, Tsuna closed the notebook and stuffed it in his backpack, leaning back on the park bench.
This was the only place he could relax in. Why? No criminals were here, and if they were, they were probably doing the same thing as him; relaxing, forgetting their past and only enjoying the sight. The surrounding lights sparkled in the sky, being the stars that are usually covered by clouds. Then the trees; the colors were warm, ranging from red to his favorite orange, and they felt comforting. "Like a mother's hug..." He compared. Nana flashed through his eyes. "Mom..." Tsuna started. "I-"
"Please! Let go of me!" Somebody yelled. In alarm, Tsuna turned to the voice. It was coming from an alleyway, the one where all the... Tsuna gulped. That's where all the... "love" happens.
"Stop!" The person sounded like a girl. The voice was so... fragile, as if she was already broken before the girl came here. "I-I don't want to! Leave me alone!" She cried out again.
"No can do, sweet cheeks." He hear the assaulter say. His voice was raspy, and very, very drunk sounding. There was a thump. Tsuna guessed the girl was pinned on the wall. "You're going to be mine tonight. Say, are you a virgin?" The man asked.
"I-I-!" The girl stopped talking, preferring to choke back a sob. "Just... Leave me alone..." She whispered. From what Tsuna could see, the man started to touch her hair.
Just like how that dead man did to his mother.
