So yeah, I do not own pokemon, it is owned by Nintendo, The Pokemon Company and Game Freak. Also any other respected companies which I haven't learnt about. Even so I hope you enjoy this!
"Ah here we are, the Sinnoh region. The fair breeze has a fairly sweet aroma to it and those mountains are huge, we can even see them from here! Lush forestry and tons of new cities, opportunities to encounter, new pokemon we've never seen before and people to meet...Yeah you know I have a good feeling about this place. Yeah, just look at that view." The boy said calmly before turning to the door with angry eyes, "AT LEAST YOU COULD IF YOU GOT OUT OF THE FREAKING BATHROOM!" He sudden yelled angrily.
"SHUT UP WOULD YOU TOM!" A female voice shouted back, slightly muffled by the bathroom door.
Inside the bathroom was a girl, eighteen years old, a little on the chubby side with long died green hair and brown eyes. She was groaning and rolling around the floor, getting dust and dirt all over her beige sweater and pink skirt, she tightly gripped onto her stomach and whined.
"Freaking cramps, would you just frick off?" She groaned angrily.
Tom sighed and leaned against the door, pulling the front of his blue cap down over his eyes, he smirked and began to curl a lock of his crimson hair that peeked out from beneath his cap.
"You're moaning too much, so what you lose a little blood? Slight stomach ache, and emotional issues. All seems a little inconvenient, doesn't need this much drama." He said, laughing a little.
"FRICK OFF TOM! This freaking hurts okay? I swear when these pass I'm gonna come out there, kick your balls so hard they explode, stitch them back together and break them apart again in a continuous cycle!" The girl shouted.
She heard a door open and lock outside her small room suddenly, making her frown and grow more annoyed at her room mate.
"Tom? You better not have gone out, you know I don't like being alo-" She shouted as she burst open the door, pulling up her tights at the same time.
The boy was sitting there, looking like he was about to burst, she swore he was almost crying as a smile grew across his face.
"You're such a dick." She said angrily, biting her lip as she clutched her stomach again.
"God you should have heard yourself, I-I-" Tom said, laughing his head off, laying back onto his bed.
"I'm glad you're getting a kick out of this, freaking jerk why am I your friend?" She questioned herself as she slumped onto her bed.
"Oh come on Alyssa, you know it's because you find me irresistible." He said cockily, putting on a smooth voice.
"Do I need to punch you again?" She said angrily, looking at him unimpressed.
"Pity. It's pity why you're my friend. No one can deal with my unique personality and quirks, being the angel you are swooped on down and helped me out in the world."
"Don't call me an angel, you sound like a creepy old man." She groaned.
"Either way, I apologise, truly I do. I hope your suffering comes to a close, but I still think you're over reacting a little."
"Balls Tom, you like yours?"
"Sorry sorry, man you get so angry on your period. Couldn't you be like a depressed or weirdly upbeat girl during your time?"
"Oh I don't know, why don't we just go ask mother nature huh? Hey miss, can you make me bleed and kick my uterus in such a way that I feel less pain and become an upbeat person because my privileged shit of a friend doesn't like being yelled at." Alyssa replied sarcastically.
"See would that be so hard?" Tom laughed, "And are you really starting in Sinnoh dressed like that? I heard in Sinnoh it's all about the mid-riffs and girls here. Ooooo mighty fine."
"Sorry, feel free to call me angel, you are a creepy old man trapped in an eighteen year old's body."
"A guy has his stuff Alyssa, come on you know that."
"You are like a horrible human being."
"I know, and you're the best friend of one." Tom laughed.
Alyssa looked her annoying friend up and down, he was wearing an orange coat with a fur lined hood, a green shirt with the white trace of a poke-ball pattern and a standard set of jeans and trainers.
"And what about you eh? This region seems like it'll be pretty hot, you look more dressed for the winter."
"Well actually if you took a look outside the window sometime you'd see the place is pretty mountain-y, plus I checked a map out and the north is seriously pure ice and snow."
"Well my sweater will come in handy after all then right?"
"I guess, but you look like a milk chocolate wrapped in white chocolate treat."
"Wow. In ten minutes you've managed to make fun of my period, clothes, ethnicity, personality and I'm pretty sure you've just hoped on the sexist wagon. What next my weight?"
"Nah, I don't like to make fun of people's weight. Besides you're only chubby so it's not that bad."
"Oh, weight is your boundary. But not gender, feelings or race?" Alyssa asked.
"What can I say, I'm an insensitive comedian. I don't mean or believe the things I say, I'm just an attention whore. Oh, do us a favour and call out your zoroark would you? I'm gonna go find myself a girl to hit on, impress and never message back." Tom said as he stood up and headed towards the door.
"You are actually disgusting." Alyssa laughed.
"Thank you, thank you. You're too kind. Chao!"
Tom shut the door behind him tightly and locked it slowly, leaving Alyssa alone to her thoughts. The girl pulled out an old looking pokeball and smiled, before clicking the button on it; the small orb opened up and a blue stream of light burst out and began to manifest into a larger being. Then the light shot off into smaller particles and standing there was the tall fox pokemon. Alyssa's Zoroark was shiny and so it had a purple mane and eye-shadow-like markings, yellow piercing eyes and the fluff around it's neck was more brown than grey.
"Zoro!" It said, looking around, when it saw Alyssa it smiled.
"Shade." the girl whined while holding out here arms.
The pokemon sighed and climbed up onto the bed, taking a fox-like resting position and the girl rested her head on it's big fluffy mane. Shade opened one of its' eyes and looked at his trainer now resting on his back, from his body he released a wave of purple light along the bed which ran across the floor and then the walls. Before her eyes the entire small room had turned into a huge forest, which stretched out for miles and miles, Alyssa smiled softly and started to pet shade.
"Just like home...Thanks Shade, you always know how to help when I'm on my period."
"roark." The pokemon replied calmly.
A while had passed and Alyssa woke up after her long sleep, Shade's illusion on the room had worn off and once more she was reminded that she was on a boat. Her cramps had stopped while she was sleeping so she decided to do as Tom said and look out the small port-hole window on the wall. She was on a huge boat cruising over from the Unova region, and this was her first time being alone from home. She felt a little uneasy but at the same time she was incredibly excited, she'd came all this way and now she was going to make her dream true.
"I'm gonna be a champion." She whispered to herself, "And then...I'm coming for you mum!"
Lostorn Forest, three weeks ago. Like most days in Unova it was plagued by heat, the bright sun penetrating the green leaves of the tall tress and spreading green filtered light all over the realm below, pidove nestled in the tree branches and patrat surveyed the land. The silence was interrupted by the crunching of leaves and thuds of footsteps, Alyssa was riding on Shade through the dense woods, followed by a few other zoroark.
"Shade we have to hurry, you know how Chichi gets when we turn up late to anything, never mind our own birthdays." She said, gripping on tightly to Shade's mane.
"Zoro, ark ark." The odd coloured pokemon replied, leading the group through.
"You know we wouldn't be like this if you didn't go into Nimbasa Alssa!" One of the Zoroarks muttered with telepathy.
"Of course yes, how dare I go see my only person friend for mine and Shade's present on our own birthday." Alyssa replied to the pokemon sarcastically.
"You know you could have more than just one horrible human friend if you used less of that sarcasm." The zoroark snapped back.
"Ah whatever Claw, you're just sour because we're older than you." She laughed, patting Shade's head to substitute a high five.
The group turned sharply right as they came out the forest and into a huge meadow, it stretched out for a few miles and was covered in in a collection of flowers; there was a gentle breeze which skimmed over the grass and in the distance there was a huge gathering of zoroark, dancing around around and cheering. There were party decorations and lots of berries gathered into huge piles. As Alyssa's group approached the tribe started to howl out of happiness, causing her and Shade to blush a little.
"Oi Alyssa, Shade, where have you been?" One yelled with telepathy.
"Welcome back to the party you two, Alyssa come on and play for us!" Another one shouted.
Alyssa demounted Shade and a pair of zorua came over, carrying a violin and stick between them. The instrument looked old and beaten but the strings were in tact, the young pokemon looked up to the girl with pleading eyes.
"Yeah sure, I guess I can play." She said cooly, picking up the instrument and running the stick over the strings to get it in tune.
She then harshly scraped against the strings, causing them all to howl a little. Smirking the girl started to play properly and the sound of upbeat violin reverberated on the air, there was an uproar of howls as the zoroark and zorua started to dance and howl with the music. Out of the blue there was a huge stream of black rings with purple outlines that fired up to the air, it created a screeching sound which made everyone at the party flinch. They all turned to a pair of elderly looking Zoroark, one was male and the other was an oddly coloured female.
"Alyssa, Shade where have you two been?" The male one complained.
"Now Chichi, don't make such a show. Village elder or not this is a party!" The female scolded, though her elderly voice made it sound caring.
"I don't care, my grandson and daughter have been gone all morning. I'll make a show if I want to see them." Chichi replied, "Though I apologise for making a show Hahaoya my dear."
Alyssa and Shade walked over to the two elders and hugged them both respectively.
"Sorry Grandpa, Grandma...I had to run into Nimbasa to try and find Tom." Alyssa apologised.
"Zoro." Shade said, bowing his head.
"Ah I see, Tom-boy...Why didn't you bring him back with you?" Hahaoya asked.
"We couldn't find him Grandma." Alyssa said apologetically, "Though I don't think he's someone worth meeting anyway."
"Well that doesn't matter, you're back now and can celebrate your birthday's." Chichi replied, "Though I am sorry, we cannot give you children our presents until tonight."
"It's okay Grandpa, I'm good with that." Alyssa laughed.
"Ark, zoroark."
"Okay, I think we've disturbed this party enough now, Alyssa sweetie could you play your violin for us again. These old bones do enjoy it so." Hahaoya asked.
"Sure." She replied, picking up the instrument and starting again.
The party swung back into action with the dancing and the eating and the cheers of the tribe. The two elders smiled as they looked upon their grandchildren but the smiles slowly turned to concerned frowns. Night came in slowly and while all the other members of the tribe partied around and illusionary fire, Alyssa and Shade had gone off and chose a spot to rest. She was leaning back against a stone where the zorua lay, petting some of their heads and Shade lay down next to her. The sky was cloudy, but that was expected with the city leaking pollution, yet the light from the stars lit up the sly nicely and the purple streak of the galaxy highlighted the realm above nicely.
"Eighteen years Shade...That's a long time isn't it?" She asked.
The pokemon simply murmured in it's sleep.
"Heh, sleeping at this time? I swear you age differently to me." She laughed.
The girl looked down at her ebony hands, how they were covered in skin and observing how utterly 'human' they were. She ran those human hands through her long green hair and looked back up to the sky as she began to think about everything her grandparents here did for her. They stole clothes from Nimbasa and risked getting captured, made themselves look like humans so she could go find a human friend when she was 12, stole her an instrument. Despite them always asking her to address them as grandparents, they felt more like actual parents. Though, Shade being their actual grandchild, they'd already done the regular old parent thing. She was snapped from her thoughts when she heard Chichi's howl, awaking Shade and most of the Zorua. The duo walked through a small section of forest until they came to a huge tree, and at the bottom of the trunk was a huge split in the tree, the two followed through it and they came to another small opening. However when they arrived they were caught off guard by their grandparents who were sitting there. Chichi had two wrapped presents in front oh him, Hahaoya had two in front of her and in-between them was one final present.
"Alyssa, sit in front of your Grandma. Shade you come in front of me." Chichi ordered.
The two looked at each-other and did as they were told, sitting down on the floor.
"Gr-" Alyssa was saying when Chichi interrupted her.
"No Alyssa, though I am sorry, we need to talk now." Chichi said, "You two, my sweet children are eighteen now, you've grown up so much and I find it amazing. The time has truly flown however Alyssa, Shade...There is something that as Grandparents we must do."
"You two have been good children. Very good." Hahaoya said, "You always did as you've been told to, and you have the utmost respect for life. Though there is one thing you have neglected to do because you are good children, and that is ask. Alyssa...You resemble your mother from what I can remember and Shade, oh how you look like our Faith."
"So it is about time I told you the truth of what came to be eighteen years ago. Illusion meadow, where we live, has never been stood upon by most humans. Only those who have earned respect or by accident have stumbled upon us here, however there is a question in that. Why do we hide? We zoroarks and zorua have the rare ability to create illusion and here in the Unova region we are a rare species, there are branches of us in Kalos were we are not but here in the origin, we are legendary. So naturally whenever a trainer who owns our species becomes known we become highly hunted, sometimes by loving trainers but more often, by selfish people. This hunt happened eighteen years ago, and while it was mostly unsuccessful one day we were found. A woman showed up one day, dressed in black and wearing a red R on her shirt stumbled upon us and attacked; she was a powerful trainer and her pokemon fought fiercely, however despite her being outnumbered she had the one thing we did not have on our side. Gijinka evolution! It is a special method of temporary evolution now known to all, but allowed to the few. This trainer became one with her pokemon and so we could not stand up to her, Alyssa it dreads me to say this but this woman was your mother."
"M-my mum? S-she-"
"Please, listen." Chichi interrupted once more, "Hahaoya and I fought against her to protect the tribe, she seemed only interested in the strong. It was then Shade, your mother and father came forward and battled her to protect us, intrigued by your mums rare colour and your fathers strength she captured the two. I of course became enraged and went at her, however gijinka evolution was too much for me."
"As a mother herself she saw the pain in my eyes." Hahaoya stated, "And so Alyssa, I remember her cold eyes, she turned said to us 'I have taken a child, so in fairness take mine' and so she dropped you with us and vanished. Alyssa, this must be hard on you and Shade, I am sorry too."
Alyssa felt tears role down her cheeks and she started shaking, her breathing became erratic and she clutched her chest; Shade was completely still, his eyes wide and was soundless.
"I am so very sorry children." Chichi said, "It is a grim way to end your eighteenth birthday and so, I must continue to add to this I'm afraid. These present must be opened next, and so we will talk more. Can you be strong?"
Alyssa felt herself go light-headed but something was telling her inside to keep going and listening to them, so she nodded.
"Zoroark!" Shade said, trying to be strong.
The two elders pushed the wrapped presents forward and let the two open their gifts. Alyssa opened hers to find two tickets for a ship, it read Sinnoh ships and a strange bracelet with a red and blue double helix pattern on it, there was an empty slot; Shade's presents consisted of a small round stone and a fang with a piece of string going through it like a necklace.
"W-what is this?" Alyssa sniffled.
"That child is a DNA bracelet, it posses the power when combined with the zoronite it allows you two to combine and form gijinka evoltuion! Shade, that round orb is the zoronite."
"And that fang necklace, after the battle one of your mother's teeth was found and so we crafted it into a necklace. Those ship tickets, are for both of you. Alyssa, we want you to start your journey as a trainer and Shade we want you to go too, however we can not allow you to start here! There have been whisperings of a dangerous group here in Unova and so we're sending you out of here." Hahaoya explained.
"So you're sending us away?" Alyssa cried.
"Yes, however Sinnoh was not the place we chose by random; that woman, all those years ago, spoke about how she'll profit from this in Sinnoh. That name is a name I will never forget." Chichi said, "We want you to go on your journey to Sinnoh, so you may grow and so if you decide to...To find your parents, the both of you."
Alyssa and shade simply stared at them in silence, not knowing what to say, it was then when the elders unwrapped the last gift together. It was a pokeball.
"Alyssa, together you will find new friends and well, using our illusion we spoke to the professor at Sinnoh. She is going to give you a starter pokemon." Hahaoya continued, "But before that, we must keep you two together and so Alyssa, Shade. With gijinka evolution and your bond we want you to go journey together."
"G-Grandpa...Grandma!" Alyssa cried as she wrapped her arms around Hahaoya and buried her face into the chest poof.
The elder stroked the girls hair and and Chichi took Shade outside for their own talk. The night rolled past quickly after that. Over the next few days Alyssa and Shade practised gijinka evolution to perfection and she met with Tom who spoke to her about the tickets; how she'd only need one for her and pokemon go on free, after some talk he ended up tagging along on the boat journey. The day had come when it was time to say goodbye.
"We were able to gather all the high quality clothes we could scavenge and pack them for you." Hahaoya said, hugging the girl.
"Shade, make your Grandpa and ma proud. Become strong for us." Chichi said giving the zoroark a hug.
"We're going to keep watch of you, we'll go into Nimbasa and look at all the TVs we can." Hahaoya said, hugging Shade this time.
"And we know that you'll appear on the box somehow, because you are someone special." Chichi said to Alyssa, hugging her.
"Thank you, Grandma, Grandpa." Alyssa replied, smiling softly.
"Zoroark." Shade stated.
Alyssa hopped up on Shade and they started to travel away from the tribe, who were all in tears. The elders at the front refrained from crying but then Chichi felt something overwhelming.
"ALYSSA, SHADE! Y-YOU STAY SAFE I MEAN IT, DON'T YOU DARE BE LATE FOR ANYTHING OVER THERE" He yelled, tears rolling down his cheeks, "THOUGH I AM SORRY FOR MAKING IT THIS WAY!"
Alyssa began to cry into Shade's fur as the ventured out of the forest and towards route 16.
She snapped out of her day dream as she heard the door snap shut behind her. Tom had just walked in from his evening of 'seduction' and had a trophy firmly planted on his red-raw cheek to celebrate his efforts.
"Serves you right." She said coldly.
"You don't even know what I did yet." Tom argued.
"I don't need to know, I'll be surprised if it's anything less than physical contact." Alyssa sighed.
"Right so there I was, mood was great and I'd met this beautiful, exotic Kalos chick; you know all fancy and stuff with a beret and killer curves, like damn, she could be her own miltank farm with the chest she had-"
"I'm going to put another one of those on your face in a minute."
"Anyway, so mood is good and all, so I lean in for a kiss and she slaps me! Naturally being the top I am and I'm not into BDSM I had to retreat back here." Tom said, pulling off his shoes and lying back on his bed.
"Why bother lying down? We're about two hours away at least."
"I need my beauty sleep for all the Sinnoh girls, besides we have a flight to get on when we get there remember?" Tom yawned, "We're arriving in Canalave city and from there we'll get a plane to Sandgem town, where the professor is."
"Right, I suppose I better go down again." Alyssa said, getting back on the bed.
"Oooh la la, as that Kalos girl would say." Tom chuckled.
She picked up her pillow and threw it at him before fully lying down next to Shade, drifting off to sleep she imagined what awaited her in Sinnoh...The gyms, the elite four, the pokemon...And maybe, her and Shade's parents...
And so the adventure starts, a new tale takes place in Sinnoh region and how will our heroine do as she starts her travels? You'll have to tune in next time on Pokemon!
So very little actual action or anything this chapter as I want you to get to know the characters but please feel free to leave reviews ^.^ I need all the feedback, criticism and and support for a story like this one, so I hope you favourite it because this won't properly start until the end of Smash on!
