Another fanfiction? I need to stop writing new stories when I have infinite others that need finishing! AAAARGH!
Oh well, never mind.
So this is set in my FNaF universe, which is a little AU. There may be a few details or teasers that you either won't understand or notice unless you've read my two drabble series; 'Caged in Pirate's Cove' (Focusing on FNaF 1) and 'In Dire Need of Repairs' (Focusing on FNaF 2). If you don't care, then that's okay; I'll try to explain everything as time goes on anyway.
This fanfic also includes elements of FNaF 3 (You know what that means. SPRING BONNIEEE! *shot by Springtrap 'DON'T USE MY OLD NAME!'*), so I hope you like what I've done with this.
I have a few things in I need to forewarn you guys about, too.
1. This is a somewhat AU timeline, which is fully explained in 'In Dire Need of Repairs', however that overview isn't completely correct any more since I've changed a few things since the release of the third game and it hardly tells you everything.
2. There's going to be a fair amount of swearing; the humans in particular have particularly colourful vocabulary XD
3. Gore is imminent! If you want me to put warnings in chapters that contain excessive gore, let me know, I don't mind.
4. There will be several homosexual pairings and LGBT, which I will reveal in future chapters. Don't like? Then kindly keep it to yourself. Leave if you absolutely have to. I will not tolerate homophobic reviews on this story. If you believe homosexuality to be wrong because of religious beliefs or something else, then I will respect that, but please don't try to force your views on me or anyone else, it only leads to fights and I don't want to set off any fandom wars (there's enough of those already).
5. Now this is more of an apology/explanation/request than a warning. The four Toy animatronics are bilingual, so I'll be using crappy Google Translate to write out most phrases that are in foreign languages. If you happen to be fluent in German, French, Portuguese or Spanish, then you wouldn't mind helping me out if you find something wrong, would you? Thanks!
Phew! That was a long A.N.! Chances are there'll be a lot of those in this story, but they'll most likely be short or me gushing out my appreciation to you.
What am I still doing here? Anyway, I hope you enjoy 'Cry Freedom' and be sure to post a review!

Prologue
2005
She was gone. They both were. He had nothing left to live for now. No reason to fight for justice.
Lying in his dim, dusty Cove, he wept in despair, mourning the two lives who'd loved him and given him a second chance, despite his atrocities.
Those innocent brown eyes and the fierce, resolute burgundy ones; he'd watched them descend into eternal darkness. All that was left of them now was a scrap of sea-foam green, fake fur and a pair of royal-purple-rimmed glasses, which he held in his hand. These relics were the only things that kept him rooted to this world as he rusted away to oblivion.
He hurt, and he only had himself to blame…

After 2005; Exact Date Unknown
Blood smeared the floor and walls, but that was to be expected in such a gruesome yet wondrous ritual. The girl had disappeared from his reach, but the green animatronic had remained. The empty shell was now alive again, except with a few… modifications.
He'd used the body of a man he'd taken many years ago; a teacher and guide. The only reason the body was still in a state close to fresh was because he'd formed a preservation circle around it, to last until he'd managed to find a fitting body to fuse it with.
Now his Creation was complete, and he was no longer alone in this lonely prison.
Metallic body parts were fused with flesh now. A twisted yet innocent soul had been saved and now resided in this mock-up of Frankenstein's Monster. It was just a matter of time until his new companion woke up.
He didn't have to wait long. A metallic groan forced its way out of the Creation's voice box. Brown eyes flitted open, resting on him.
"What..?" the Creation questioned, his voice no longer so childish and innocent but somewhat wizened and matured.
"I saved you," he stated simply. "I salvaged what was left and created something new out of it. Then I saved you and gave you a new form."
"…tell me everything."
…And so he did. His companion listened intently, interrupting only occasionally to ask questions. Eventually, everything was brought into clarity before him, and he spent a few minutes pondering his next statement.
"I'd like a new name to go with my old one, if it's all the same to you," his companion requested.
"Of course. What sort of name would you like?"
"Salvage. You salvaged what was left of me. I am now Salvage, but I am also…"

July 2011
Mike walked home with a spring in his step that he hadn't felt in a long time since he'd lost his sister to the monsters of a so-called children's paradise six years ago. He was carrying the newly bought ingredients for the Italian meal that Jeremy was making for tonight, to celebrate the anniversary of their moving into the same apartment block with a few other friends.
Mike's friends had saved him from depression a year ago, and the three of them continued to support each other to this day. Jeremy was strong and resolute like Felicity, and Fritz was smart, but with wild ideas. As he thought about them, a smile met his lips that not even the pounding rain could wash away.
He was jolted out of his thoughts when he caught a glimpse of purple in an alley he was walking past. Purple had been an iconic colour in his teen years after he'd spent roughly two years babysitting a young boy who, strangely, had hair the same colour.
When he went to take a look, he found that same boy curled up against the wall with his knees brought up to his chest. His incongruous hair clung to his scalp and a sodden purple turtleneck hung from his thin frame.
"Vincent?" he breathed, the name lingering on his lips for a moment. The boy – now in his late teens and probably just graduated from high school – looked up fearfully, his pale eyes locking onto Mike's.
"M-Mike?" Vincent stuttered. Mike could see that he'd been crying recently, and there was a backpack to the teen's left.
"What're you doing here in the rain?" Mike asked, worry lacing his tone. The last time he'd seen Vincent had been a year ago. "Has something happened to your mom?"
At the mention of his parent, fresh tears sprang from Vincent's eyes and he broke down into a fit of sobs. Alarmed, Mike immediately crouched down and placed a comforting hand on the teen's shoulder. To his surprise; instead of pulling away like he usually did; Vincent suddenly grabbed him in a tight hug and cried desperately into Mike's chest.
"H-help me…"

2012
His sleep had been cold and dark at first, but eventually, the shadows had brought him company; whispering softly in his ears and keeping him warm. Occasionally splashes of gold and purple-blue greeted him, too, but the purple had scared him, so it didn't visit as often. The dream – or at least that's what he thought it was – seemingly stretched on forever, until he lost himself in it.
But like all dreams; you have to wake up from them eventually.
He felt stiff and a little annoyed when he did. That dream had been so nice…
"Ooh! He's waking up!" chattered a soft, female voice. "Hola, dormilón!"
"Berugihen, Balloon Boy," a deeper, male voice scolded in the background. "You can say hello in a minute."
"Uma criança tão doce," crooned another, although this one was softer and he couldn't tell if it was male or female.
Eventually he opened his eyes, and was greeted by a pair of vibrant yellow ones set in a fluffy white face that was splashed with pink on the muzzle.
"Hello, little one," the white fox greeted gently. "My name is Toy Foxy. This is Toy Chica, Toy Bonnie, Toy Freddy and Balloon Boy."
As the fox said each name, it pointed to the respective animatronics. They all looked nice; friendly. Perhaps a little familiar…
"We're your new family, sweetheart."
And they'd turned out to be the greatest family he could ever have wished for.
I'm baaack!
Okay, so Vincent is based off of Rebornica's Vincent, just to let you know. All credit goes to them!
Just thought I'd let you know. Oh, and I plan on posting around two chapters every week! If this schedule slips and I don't have a good excuse, then internet slap me in the face please. I have five/six chapters written out already, though, so I'm going to post all those today.
Bye for now!
