The Ones That Stayed Behind
Authors Note: In this the Slytherin Head of House is not Professor Slughorn.

"Then a figure rose from the Slytherin table and he recognized Pansy Parkinson as she raised a shaking arm and screamed, "But he's there! Potter's there. Someone grab him!"
Before Harry could speak, there was a massive movement. The Gryffindors in front of him had risen and stood facing, not Harry, but the Slytherins. Then the Hufflepuffs stood, and almost at the same moment, the Ravenclaws, all of them with their backs to Harry, all of them looking toward Pansy instead, and Harry, awestruck and overwhelmed, saw wands emerging everywhere, pulled from beneath cloaks and from under sleeves.
"Thank you, Miss Parkinson." said Professor McGonagall in a clipped voice. "You will leave the Hall first. Professor Butler, if you and the rest of your House could follow."
"Actually, Minerva," Professor Josh Butler stood up. "I am not going to be leaving. Hogwarts is my home as much as it is yours and I will defend it until my last breath."
Although he did not say it, Harry knew, by the approving nod that was given to him, that Professor Butler was supportive of Harry, not just Hogwarts.
Professor McGonagall repeated, "Slytherin House please follow Mr. Filch to the dungeons."
The Slytherins all rose and began to walk out of the Hall until there was a loud, "No."
Everybody looked up to see Mathilda Ellis and Tamara Davis sitting down.
Mathilda spoke again, "We're going to stay."
Tamara looked towards the Gryffindors, and even though she couldn't see him, she addressed him, "We're behind you all the way, Harry."
