"Ingo?"

Ingo's eyes flew open and he jolted upright at the sound of his twin's voice. The older of the two, Emmet, jerked backward to avoid cracking heads. Ingo rubbed at his silver eyes as he realized who'd woken him, and he scowled at Emmet. Emmet was perched on his twin's bed, looking at him with large eyes.

"Vhat do you vant, Emmet. It's zhree in zuh morning." Ingo glared at Emmet some more, who folded his arms uncomfortably and looked down at his lap.

"I can't sleep. It's freezing in my room..." Emmet murmured. Ingo frowned and tilted his head like a cat, examining the usually happier twin.

"So vhat am I supposed to do about zat?" The younger twin coughed and drew the blanket tighter around his shoulders. The cold seemed to seep past the blankets and into his flesh.

"Don't make me sleep in my room alone?" Emmet looked up at Ingo through his eyelashes. Like they used to when they were kids and Emmet wanted something Ingo had.

Ingo had always fallen for it.

"Fine zen." Ingo exhaled sharply through his nose, flopping back onto the pillows. Emmet beamed and burrowed under the covers, curling his body against his brother's. Ingo stiffened as Emmet's arms wound around his waist.

"Ingo?" Emmet asked again after a few moments of silence. Ingo let out a small sigh.

"Da?" Ingo closed his eyes. Emmet was silent again. Then the older twin squirmed a little so they were nose to nose.

"Good night." Emmet smiled sweetly as Ingo blinked open one eye to glare at him. "Sleep tight, bruder."

Ingo didn't expect the quick, sweet kiss. And he was perfectly okay with Emmet tucking his head under Ingo's chin, because that way, Emmet wouldn't see the blush creep over his cheeks and the tiny smile that graced his lips.
