I don't own Harry Potter! And please REVIEW! I'm in a fanfiction rut here and I need some feed back... Lily and James are dating looking through Snapes eyes.

Oh and Alice's maiden name is never given so I put one in. Paige is Hannah Abbotts mother since I thought it would be cool to have her mentioned

He was studying Lily and her friends from the Slytherin table. She had 3 best friends just like Potter did: Alice Benson, Paige Oliver, and Mary McDonald. Snape never noticed it before but they were exactly like Potters gaggle of friends.

Paige was like Lupin, the voice of reason. She tried in school and excelled at it, but she seemed to be hiding something. Apperance wise she had brown hair, blue eyes, and glasses. Mary was the second in command like Sirius, both seemed to hold there friendship together. Apperance wise she had blond hair and hazel eyes. Not the dumb one. Alice though nothing like Peter seemed to hold his place instead.

"Did you hear?" asked Alice to her friends. Her hands stroking her black hair in it's two french braids.

"What?" asked Lily who was finishing her toast.

"It's about you Lily that you're going out with James Potter," said Mary smirking at her friend. She had grow out of her shy faze back in the 5th year. Now she was just outgoing as Lily was.

No this could not be happening, Lily and James. He knew what Lily really thought of the man behind James Potter. She thought he was a prat, a toad, something that was totally not him.

"Well give us some details," said Alice leaning in more. Paige closed her book and looked up at Lily also curious.

"Come on Lils," prodded Mary.

"Let Lily talk," said Paige being the voice of reason. "I mean James isn't all that bad once you've talked to him. She just never cared before to know him, and well now she cares to know."

Then everybody looked at Lily expecting her to spill her guts. She swept her red hair to over her shoulder and leaned in tell them everything.

Snape in the back watching them as the talked and ate, only to sit and watch. His lips a thin line and he walked not wanting to hear it anymore.
