The Demigod and the Ninja
Rory Mercury met the otherworlder that was near her location and was directed to her by her Patron Deity Emroy. She found a little girl instead but her lord still insisted she was a young woman who quickly shrunk to 'little girl-hood'.
It took gestures to tell each other's name and Rory taught the young woman language for them to talk while providing for her.
'Finally, after one damn long year I can finally understand the natives!' Naruko sighed in relief. 'Not being able to talk beyond Language for Dummies makes me go stir crazy!' she moaned.
'Well, tell me all about yourself, Naruko. And about the world you came from.' said Rory. 'My Patron Deity Emroy asks it of you.'
'Well...its a long story we could use some booze to last us a while. We'll be here for hours. In return you teach me all about this world.' said Naruko helplessly and hopelessly. 'I don't think I can go back ever again, might as well go native...'
Hours later after sharing each other's worlds...
'I see...what a world...say, you think you can give me training methods?' Rory asked her. 'Because my Liege is a God of War, all who worship him must be very formidable fighters and us Temple Maidens must be the cream of the crop.'
'Well, expect training to be rea~lly harsh!' Naruko snorted, 'I didn't get to where I am by smiling! Man am I glad I asked the granny and bushy brows their regimen...'
By the time she was done and Rory read it all...
Her eyes bulged in disbelief and horror.
'For real?'
'For real. The other insane parts, Gai-sensei's nuts but his craziness paid off, being the only one to nearly kill Madara with just a kick as a result. Hey, we're a warring world, you and your Emroy-sama's gonna think of it as Paradise.' said Naruko wryly. 'I just hope Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi won the war even without me, we were the only ones awake left...' she choked out. 'Stupid Kaguya, stupid god-complex overpowered women and that bastard kid of hers for manipulating History to this point!' she griped in frustration. 'I can't relax without knowing if we won and earned freedom or not...'
'Well, unless we know your world's coordinates to create a Gate, can't help you either...there's so many worlds.' said Rory, shaking her head. 'Go to Rondel and study, and live a good life with a good livelihood. But are you seriously gonna stay a kid?'
'Well, this technique enables me to suppress my full power but it also suppresses my aging when in use...so as long as I have it on, I'm potentially immortal but if deactivated, 'time' will continue again for me. Not only that, if child-to-adult change, you'll burst out of your clothes quite literally.' said Naruko. 'I'll stay a little girl until a miracle happens for me while training to keep in shape. I used to use this to pretend to be an adult but now that I'm a woman, I pretend to be a kid.'
'TEACH ME!' Rory freaked out on her. 'I want to see how I'll look as an adult!'
'You know the setbacks alright? Its temporary as long as its on anyway. While I don't know what energy this world uses, follow the instructions anyway...'
(by the end of it, Rory was insanely happy and Naruko gave her a kimono, panties and a pair of slippers from her Sealing Scroll labeled 'Closet'.)
'I-I'm an adult~!' Rory squealed and drooled as she. was. beautiful as she saw herself in water, wearing a dark red kimono with black flame prints and a dark yellow obi. With a huge rack but half of Tsunade's size, and much firmer she supposed.
'Well, that's how you'd look as an adult.' said Naruko. 'The jutsu reads your genetics...the blueprint of our body within our family hereditary traits and causes you to change into the best traits you can have, the faulty blueprints ignored...and then when you grow older, that jutsu influences how you look as an adult, hereditary family diseases ignored it'll never show so its a win-win the granny couldn't believe I created it while unaware of the incredibly incredible benefits and I was the dead-last in my class.'
That, and Tsunade declared it a Kinjutsu with her knowing the nasty truth in fear of the wrong people becoming immortal. She herself uses it while regaining her fighting shape.
'I can't thank you enough!' Rory swooned. 'I can finally enjoy womanhood!' she said in bliss.
'Now now...' Naruko sweatdropped.
'Well, go to Rondel...keep going east from where we are until you see a city and I want you to study there.' said Rory. 'I want you to see it as how you see this world. The last thing I'll teach you about, is money.' she took out a purse and took out different types of coins.
'This 60 gram gold coin is called a Suwani. Its about a year's worth of Life Savings for an Individual Person which is about 50000 Sinks for an ordinary person and triple that for a Mage since they spend money on their studies.' she took out a smaller and flatter coin. 'With a Suwani, they can afford a nice house, and live with full stomachs, decent clothes and education in comfort for a year. Let's start with the lowest worth coin, the Bita.'
Its a brown-looking coin with an ugly face of a monster on it on one side and a club on the other. 'Bitas are basically worth 1 point. You can only buy the cheapest of foods a.k.a market scraps and black bread with these and even then, they don't taste good. It takes about 500 Bita to make the Aku.' somewhat lighter-brown coin with the face of a nicer-looking being with an axe. 'With Aku, you can afford the cheapest beer, decent market ingredients, cheap clothing that will not last long and the cheapest but still-decent restaurant food made with the simplest of fare with taste to match. It takes 50 Aku to make the Clou.' the coin is now brass, with an elf for a head and a bow and arrow at the tails side.
'The Clou will buy you cheap clothes that will last you a year, a pair of shoes, better tavern drinks and better restaurant food. You can also buy medicine, afford cheap medical services, cheap cuts of meat, condiments, grains and decent vegetables and fruits. It takes 9000 Clou to make a single Denari.' the coin is that, of a nobleman with a crown of leaves. 'Denari is used as a Salary Unit. And your salary is based on the job you have that most people work multiple jobs to make ends meet. A Denari can only feed a single person for five days if spent wisely. You'll soon learn that if you scoped out market goods. The Solda, a salary unit given only to Soldiers, is worth the same as Denari.' Rory showed a bronze coin depicting a soldier. 'And to make a Sinku, you'd need 1000 Denari or Solda. With Sinku, you can afford the best of the best. Such as getting an education, buy writing materials and books, the finest clothing and shoes, a luxurious house...whatever's the best quality.'
'Heee...so that's how it is?' Naruko mused.
'Yup.' Rory nodded. 'Just remember that and you'll be fine. Go to school in Rondel for General Education. The best school's tuition fee is 200 Sinkus a year. And you have to pay for your own school needs and books. And books are heinously-expensive, 3 Sinkus a copy as books here are copied by hand and the writing materials cost 1 sinku.'
'WHAT?!'
Needless to say, Naruko thought, she'll have to cheat to fund her schooling.
"Ugh, school...and I thought I graduated Ninja Academy!"
As Naruko parted with Rory, she traveled to Rondel as a starting point.
She scoped out market goods and services affordable to her using all coinage.
She then Henge-d rocks into money to try out everything and bought goods using different faces...and resolved to never be poor enough to pay for Aku-Class goods ever again.
She then traveled to the Imperial Capital of Sadera where the best goods are...and so she can rob the Royal Treasury as Mages are sensitive to Jutsu as she found out the hard way she had to run for it.
She stole enough Sinku for her seven years of schooling, and studying how to make a version of this world's tastier food.
Upon obtaining fancy clothes for her young self, she then went back...to school.
Upon graduating in her so-called teenage years when in reality she was 25 years old(but her true body was stuck to her teens upon release). Now that she's in her twenties, she now maintains the body of her 14 years old self as everyone knew her, unaware of her immortality.
She took to Sagehood too...but studied by herself. She stole books after purchasing a Staff...and learned that these people just has the BARE BASICS of both magic and ninjutsu. They see magic as manipulating the Natural Laws and studying nature...but some cannot do magic and took to Academics instead.
HELLO KAGE BUNSHIN STUDYING! She read 100 books a day and HELLO MENTAL STRESS. She also used Kage Bunshin to re-study her own native language in a bid NOT to forget it as a pecaution.
Then she decided to create a ninja city.
Using a Jutsu, she created a huge wall made out of rock while in Sage Mode and made it so smooth, but sturdy and twice as high compared to wall standards. And there's turrets to shoot bows and arrows from.
She built her city near the Blue Sea that also has rivers linking to it so her village can have Seafood and fresh water sources.
She made a deal with the Dwarves. She would bring the necessary metals to make her village have a net worth of 50 million Suwani in loose change to be self-sustainable, as well as build her city according to her drawn blueprints.
The Trade will be Seafood for 'anything else', to be carried elsewhere while frozen in huge chunks of ice for Food Preservation.
Upon building and designing it, she paid the Dwarves a hefty sum for building her city, and supplying her city with enough coinage to be financially self-sufficient.
She then gathered good-looking orphans, slaves for sale and prostitutes to be her citizens in a city they filled up on. Its a Matriarchal Society where women hold the law and power and they have about 500.000 people.
The City has many Clans as a result as well, full of demihumans and humans living in Co-Existence, never knowing prejudice.
In 500 years, its a very prosperous city specializing in Seafood Commerce, Music and Entertainment...to the public.
They hide the fact their true nature to outsiders, and the fact that they supply a lot of metals to the dwarves for coinage and armor as they own a lot of mines especially to the Empire. Armor that covered all vital areas using the best metal alloy as the Empire still uses Iron, not the secret alloy they have. It helps that the dwarves disliked the other Kingdoms due to how they were treated by them that Paralia is secretly allied with the dwarven race.
Sure helps knowing these things, because Jiraiya makes HER gather Occupation Information for his smut.
Her Ninja City is named Paralia City, meaning 'seaside'.
All ninjas specialize in taijutsu, bukijutsu, masters of terrain, strong swimmers and divers(though some demihumans can't swim). Naruko taught the 'ancestors' of the Orphans she took in and looked after, thus here, 'Education is Free only to Orphans and children born here'. So the people here are very capable...and started their own Kingdom that grew its own borders without infringing on foreign territories. Their new kingdom domain is named Uzumaki.
Their territory were lands around the Blue Sea that wasn't part of anyone's domain, the Dumas Mountain Range and even the eastern side of the Blue Sea to their domain with borders strictly-guarded every day and each border guard is ridiculously tall, with a tall, gigantic tower that will easily burn if set on fire, sending a signal that borders are breached by an army too much for the Border Guards to handle, and everyone else will mow down the invaders without mercy.
The main capital was Paralia, and has many subordinate towns and villages headed by Clans to whom Naruko granted nobility and responsibility to, all of whom, trained hard. They also know her language so in the event of getting information...nobody can read their books OR their writings, and tend to talk in their 'other tongue' when discussing sensitive intel! Security is THAT good as the people of this world are mostly stupid due to lack of education due to the Empire's asinine law of 'Privilege by Money' system.
All citizens also wear a hitai-ate with a well-carved wave on it, or a tattoo of their symbol.
Naruko lived for five centuries, unaging and never married, due to waiting out hope that a Gate back to her world would open.
But she wondered that would everyone stay the same?
She stayed immortal for many, many years.
And dealt with many attempts to invade Uzumaki in a bid to take back the land Naruko took. Nobody succeeded.
Uzumaki has plenty of citizens due to how Naruko ruled. Plenty of food and learned to cook deliciously, well-educated and wealthy and has plenty of innovations and discoveries well within the rules Rory taught her that unlike the rest of the world, Uzumaki is a very modern kingdom by standards. Villages and farms are always near rivers to exploit Irrigation Systems. They have an entirely different culture compared to the rest of the world with a national wealth of 600 million Suwani. Uzumaki was wealthier than any other Kingdom but it was their well-kept secret.
But what made Uzumaki stand out is that they all have beautiful people of ALL races, Paralia, the capital city has a population of 600.000 while towns have 100.000 and villaves 50.000 citizens and will not allow Outsiders to move in in fear of being infiltrated by spies through them. That, and what nobody outside knows, is that only selected orphans are allowed to live here, and Sages who travel, stop by, and after a THOROUGH TEST OF CHARACTER, are allowed to live within Uzumaki but only allowed to learn culture, no more than that. It was thanks to these Sages that anyone outside has a clue on the new Uzumaki Culture and had nothing but praises and envy for it. This ensued more reasons to try to form an alliance with Uzumaki or try to invade it. Some alliances accepted, some failed. Naruko could sense emotions and lies after all.
Those who got an alliance, have the benefits of a 40% Trading Discount and allied nation citizens can come to Uzumaki as Tourists or for health reasons. The alliance must be refreshed by each successor to the throne.
As for religion? Being all trained and powerful ninjas, and through Naruko's friendship with Rory, all of them are Emroy Worshippers, as well as the Twin Gods of Study and Knowledge and Lunaryur due to their culture. Three shrines are built as Towers around Naruko's personal castle.
Centuries later, Naruko got word that the Empire opened a Gate to Alnus in a bid to invade the other side...and when there's a test run, they brought back three captured citizens so the spies killed the caravan and rescued said slaves, and making them run back home before the Gate closed because it was rudimentary shoddy work at best that the captives barely made it back! Then days later there's a Round 2 attempt, only, they made a stable Gate this time complete with framework, keeping the Gate Open as long as it existed, cue a legion going in...and nobody came back alive. They waited for a day to take a peek...and what the other side was, was unbelievable.
Tall, white, rectangular buildings with colorful signs, and a very modern culture as their roads are made of rock as well, tall lampstands at night, different clothing that was more fashionable, and many, many more.
That, and their language was similar to that of their Founder's that got Naruko investigating...but alas, its not her Home World to her chagrin.
And she and her spies had to leave quickly because Japan, the other side, is mobilizing a force to get back at the empire!
'Oh hell, go back home and fast! To the Emroy Shrine!' Naruko swore. 'Our prayer to Emroy will surely reach! The Empire pissed off a country with a powerful military, the idiots!' she cried in horror.
xxx
While Rory was traveling as usual, she got word alright.
Her master heard her old friend's prayers and concerns. 'Boy, the Empire angered an incredible enemy huh? I better see this for myself.' she paid Paralia a visit to her worried friend who appears as a child to maintain her teenaged body's immortality.
'So they invaded Japan's Ginza District, a rather upscale wealthy shopping center and their military reacted too fast for you to explore the other side?' Rory mused.
'Yeah. Soldiers already have a guarded perimeter by the time I got there, and Tunnel Construction began that there's so many large machine-driven carts of gray sand that when mixed with water, it turns into rock upon hadening after shaping it as desired parked outside and builders already started work as well as set up camp. A rather impressive parameter of barbed wires and caltrops...and soldiers on standby with these weapons.' she had a clone henge into a rifles and shotguns.
'Its clearly no crossbow but intended to shoot something...if they made such a parameter that these weapons can still reach...we'll be killed within their range for sure and its 600 meters. The plus side was their language is similar to mine. Downside, its not my damn home world.' Naruko scowled. 'I guess I should give up on going home...I mean, its been 600 freaking years now!' she moaned unhappily. 'I never married to avoid attachments while raising orphans so I have motherhood experience on me but still...'
'Well, its hard to swallow...so many worlds out there after all.' said Rory to her sulking human immortal friend. 'Just accept that this world is your new home now.'
'...'
'Well, I'll go see these Japanese for myself.' said Rory. 'Well, good thing I know your language. I'll summon you when I manage to get an In. So prepare your regent as a precaution.'
'Alright...'
It took 6 months and three days before Naruko got the call.
