Time's Up

Time

Like an hourglass,

It has a limit.

Every person has their own hourglass,

Their own time.

When the sand stops falling,

Time's up.

Sure, you can turn it over,

Start time again.

But, sometimes after turning it over so much,

And so roughly, carelessly,

The hourglass begins to crack.

Grains of sand fall through the cracks,

One at a time.

Less sand is given,

Less time.

Every time the hourglass is turned over,

It loses a little more sand.

Until one day,

There's none left.

That's when you know,

Time's up.
