Disclaimer: I do not own the characters. I borrowed lines from James Cameron's movie Titanic.

Summary: This is Ismay's thoughts during and after Titanic sinking.

Ismay's POV

Ismay's POV-

This was a mistake. I understood that this ship was unsinkable. Now I find out that the ship will sink. There has to be a miss understanding. I do remember talking to Smith and Andrews about this situation after the collision.

Mr. Andrews had said; "Water fourteen feet above the keel in ten minutes. In the forepeak all three holds and in boiler room six."

In which I replied; "When can we get underway, damn it?"

Andrews response was; "She can stay afloat with the first four compartments breeched but not five. Not five. As she goes down by the head the water will spill over the bulkheads at E deck back and back. There's no stopping it."

Smith asked what about opening the pumps and Andrews said it buy time but minutes only. Not matter what happens Titanic will founder."

I couldn't believe it. Titanic, the ship of dreams was sinking and nothing could be done. I then said; "But this ship can't sink." But Andrews said frankly; "I assure you she can and she will. It is a mathematical certainty."

I couldn't say anything at this point Smith was the one who asked how much time there was before Titanic was gone for good. Andrews said an hour. Two at most. Smith then turns to me and said "I believe you may get your head lines Mr. Ismay." I did not want to believe it. But it was true.

After the sinking, I refused to talk to anyone. I was too wrapped up in my thoughts to look at anyone or talk to them. We had made headlines now, but it was the type no one wanted to believe.
