A/N: I'm on a hype to write JellalErza..
She was suffocated by his warmth, palms sweating. Their noses briefly touched.
And there they were, locking lips. The surrounding world ignored, neglected. Swallowed by each other's company.
The kiss was sweet, satisfying. Almost as if those seven years were nothing.
She could get used to this.
"-I can't."
They're interrupted. He forcefully pushes her away.
"I have a fiancée."
And her world stops spinning for a mere second, as the realisation hits her. It's been seven years. Seven long, excruciating years.
So she picks herself up.
"Oh yes." She breathes heavily. "It's been seven years."
He looks away. He can't bear to look at her. "I'm sorry-"
"-So she's your reason for living?" She's quick to cut him off.
A pause. "I think so."
Hints of sadness appear in her eyes, she covertly hides this. And gives him her blessing regardless.
"We should return." She suggests.
And he nods, then walks behind. The awkwardness follows; he feels utter remorse for lying, yet brushes the thought out of his mind.
Then they return, only for him to leave again.
"We can't stay in one place for too long, due to the nature of our Guild." He explains. She nods.
He bids them all farewell. And turns, offers her a small smile.
And she smiles back at him. For even back then, he was such a clumsy liar.
