Shadow Dance, Prologue:
Prison is a dismal place…..the gunmetal gray bars that constitute make-up of some of the walls at Riker's make it a reality even to the visually impaired. One of the prisoners just hung there, leaning against the cell door so his arms just hung out of them.
"That bitch…I'm going to kill that bitch…." Is all what could be heard from under his breath as he looked up to see a prison guard approaching his cell, keys in hand to unlock said door.
"Face up, Harris. You have a visitor."
The prisoner known only as 'Harris' did as he was told. He bent back upright, took his arms off of the door, and waited the precious thirty seconds that it took for the guard to unlock his cell door.
The walk down the halls of Riker's Island prison was always a long one. You had men of all different races, creeds, religions, orientations….all of them just looking at you like you had an extra growth on your neck, just glaring at you because they can. Once they entered the visitors' area, Harris took a deep breath and smiled, something which struck as odd to the guard now standing behind him.
"You only have a few minutes. Make it quick." The guard spoke, a little shaken by the smile.
Harris took his seat at the booth, picking up the phone that was his speaking piece to his visitor. The visitor, another male in his late thirties/early forties, wore a black suit, navy tie, and had matching hat. However, the man also had another, rather odd, distinguishing feature: His skin and eyes. His skin and eyes were an odd hue of purple, with the latter giving off a rather cold, calculating and strangely inviting look that even his own mother could fear.
His name: Zebediah Killgrave. Codename: The Purple Man.
Zebediah grinned like the Cheshire cat at the sight of Harris. 'Everything,' he thought, 'everything is all falling into place now…'
His grin lowered to that of a more professional one when he picked up the piece to speak. He looked around, only to see that the only guard around, the guard that escorted Harris in, was leaving the room. Perfect.
"What's the status, Killgrave?" Harris asked, hushed even though there was no one else around now.
"It all goes down in a few days, Mr. Harris." is all he would say.
Harris sighed in relief. "The bitch will pay….."
Killgrave grinned maliciously. 'Yes, and so shall he….'
~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~**~*~*sj: the beginnings to a sister fiction of my 'Blind Justice' Crossover. Obviously, it's set in my L&O/Marvel world…more specifically around s9-10 of SVU….quite some time after the events of 'Undercover'. What will go down in a few days? Well. You'll just have to find out then, won't you? I know, but I didn't bring enough cupcakes to share with the class if you know what I mean…. ;) So, until then….stay strong, True Believers!
