This is a one-shot that I did for a dear friend of mine on DeviantArt.
The OC belongs to her.
"Oh, come on it'll be fun."
"No! I'm not dressing up and going to prom!"
"Please?"
"No! I'm not going and that's final!"
"Oh, come on, you'll love it."
Hallie sighed, her friends had been trying for the past hour to get her to dress up and got to prom. She didn't even want to go. Plus, she hated dressing up. She hated wearing dresses and heals, putting makeup on, or anything like that.
Finally, she gave in and let them have their way with her. When they were finished, she stepped out in front of the mirror to look at herself and gasped. She was wearing a blue Cinderella type dress with white sleeves that came down to her wrists. Her hair was in a ponytail with a blue ribbon holding it in place. She looked down at her feet and saw glass slippers.
"You made me look like Cinderella?" She said in disbelief.
"Of course, now you'll be the prettiest girl at the prom."
"I suppose, but I doubt anyone will notice." She said sadly.
"Oh, don't be that way. Of course they will."
Hallie was standing in a corner by herself. She was right, nobody really noticed, and when they got there her friends ditched her. So now, she was just standing there by herself watching her friends have a good time.
"Excuse me miss, would you like to dance?" Came a voice startling her. She turned to see a young man a little bit taller than her wearing a black suit jacket, with matching pants and a white shirt and red tie. He had reddish orange hair and blue eyes. "I'm Rodney, by the way."
"Hallie, nice to meet you." She said sheepishly. He was cute. "Umm… sure I would love to dance with you."
Rodney smiled and took her hand and led her out onto the dance floor. As they started to dance a song that she would always remember began to play.
'Oh, Her eyes, Her eyes'
'Make the stars look like'
'They're not shinin'
'Her hair, Her hair'
'Falls perfectly'
'Without her even tryin'
'She's so beautiful'
"And I tell her everyday…'
Hallie was lost in the beat and the words of the song. There was nobody there but her and Rodney. She loved every moment, she felt like she was floating.
'When I see your face'
'There's nothing I would change'
'Cause you're amazing'
'Just the way you are'
'And when you smile'
'The whole world stops and stairs'
'For a while'
'cause girl you're amazing'
'Just the way you are'
When the night was over and everyone was heading home, Rodney pulled her aside and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I had fun tonight." He said with a smile.
"Me, too." Hallie breathed, rubbing her cheek where he had kissed her. "I hope we can see each other again?"
"Of course we can." Rodney said. He then took necklace out of his pocket and put it around her neck. It was a face, a lion face, by the looks of it. "Keep it, so you'll always have something to remember me by."
"What is it?" Hallie asked.
"It's a symbol of who, and what, I am." He said with a smile.
"I will treasure it always." She said smiling.
They said their goodbyes and headed home.
'I am never getting rid of this dress.' Hallie thought on the way home that night.
"Those were the days weren't they?" Rodimus said looking at the picture that had been taken of that night.
"They certainly were." Hallie said snuggling into Rodimus' side, holding the pendant in her hand. They were cuddled on the couch of their Iacon apartment, looking through a photo album of Hallie's human days. "I still can't believe you posed as a human named Rodney."
"It was all I could think of." He said. "Besides you liked it."
"Yeah I suppose I did." She said with a giggle. "Oh, look at this picture." She said pointing at another picture in the album.
"Oh yes, I remember that day." Rodimus said with a nod. And soon the two of them were going down memory lane once more.
The End
