When Kagome had seen Inuyasha kissing Kikyo in the forest that depressingly fateful day, her soul had been tearing itself apart peice by pitiful piece. And even after a few days, it had been awkward for her to even think of him in the same, annoyed way. All the pain had buried itself deep down into the pit of her stomach. Whenever she was alone, and Inuyasha was a good distance away, she let that pain explode through out her fragile body. Causing her to vomit onto the trees. A hot array of tears made their way down her swollen cheeks. And when she was done bawling her eyes out. She dried the remnants of tears and fell asleep; bloodshot eyes and all.
After a while Kagome's mother had gotten worried, along with her grandfather. She had gotten thinner, and paler along with it. When she asked Kagome about it, but she just passed it off as "Inuyasha troubles" as they liked to say. Her mother had no reason to suspect that she was lying. But her brother, Sota, had found out about her break downs and told their mother. Kagome had agreed that she would patch things up with Inuyasha. But Sota was much more worried then his mother had been. He had seen the break down, more then once as well. Kagome's faced turned different shades of red and purple. So, the next time Inuyasha came over for a visit, he spilled the secret. Which Kagome had not talked to him about one bit.
Now, while Kagome confessed to her mental instability, Inuyasha didn't know what to do. So he did the only thing that came to mind. He kissed her. A fierce amount of worry and passion poured into the simple meet of lips. After the kisses' after shock had worn down, Inuyasha held Kagome in his arms.
"I love you." Kagome whispered inaudibly. Giving herself false hope that Inuyasha would have heard her and said the same. But she was just fooling herself. Which is why she was genuinely surprised when a fully audible whisper came from Inuyasha as well. And at that moment Kagome knew, Inuyasha truly loved her, and wouldn't give her up for anything. Not even Kikyo.
