He'll Love Him

Red, blue, green, yellow. Happily, Dean piled one block onto another carefully so his building wouldn't collapse. He would ask Mommy and Daddy if he could leave it up until the baby is born.

The small child grabbed one of his stuffed animals and petted its head as he talked. "Mommy and Daddy say they don't know if I'm getting a brother or sister, but I know."

Mary and John watched silently from outside their son's bedroom door. John wrapped his arms around his wife and settled a hand on her enlarged belly. He whispered to Mary, "He'll love him."
