Kel has never been one to talk about her feelings. It comes from years spent among the Yamanis, where showing emotion was seen as a betrayal and a faux pas.
Dom is not the sort of person to talk about feelings either, only that comes from years living among the men of the Own, where every word you let slip, drunk or no, could be used against you.
After they're together, it takes practice, and trust, and time for them both to get used to talking about their feelings, having the emotions out in the open. But it's worth it.
