Gently
"Gently...gently..."
"What is gentle about this?!"
Glancing between Mayura and Loki, Dr. Tohru Narugami sighed.
He brushed a hand through his hair and leaned over the very pregnant pink-haired woman.
"Look, Daidouji, I've known you for a decade. This is the greatest mystery of all, the mystery of life. Ponder it and PUSH. But don't rush it too much or you'll hurt your self."
"How can I push gently? LOKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"
Watching the poor man's hand get crushed, Narugami shook his head. Good thing he'd never married...
"Oh, one's out."
"Look, Mayura, a baby. Our baby...it's so amaz--"
"Mou, Loki, if you do not shut up right now...LOOKIIII!"
"Hey, there's the other one. Look, twins. Aren't they cute? Look, Daidouji, you're a mom. Pretty nifty..."
"Narugami-kun, my name isn't Daidouji anymore! We've been married for over a year--have you done this before?"
He sweat-dropped. "Now that you mention it, this is my first birth..."
"SO I'M A TEST SUBJECT!?"
Loki had never seen anyone's face turn that shade of red, especially not a woman who had just given birth.
It was a few weeks later at the Enjaku Detective Agency when Narugami finally stopped by to check in on the new parents.
Spotting the detective behind his desk, he grinned. "Yo! Have any new cases?"
"I'm barely sleeping." Loki muttered, glancing at the snake caged on his desk. "What do you think?"
Glancing at the snake, Narugami turned to Loki. "You really don't remember any of it, do you?"
Loki raised an eyebrow. "Remember what?"
"Odin...Hel...the megane!" Narugami put his hands on the desk and leaned in. "Loki, did you really change everything? Even your life?"
The blonde man stared at Narugami for a full moment before smiling. "Is this another one of your jokes? I appreciate it, but I'm too tired to get the pun. Can you stop by another time?"
"Nah, never mind." Narugami said, stepping towards the door. When Loki used up his powers on Odin, he changed time and his very life. Loki was now human, without a former lover and children, and although he was a bit strange he was fairly happy.
As for Thor? Narugami only came to Midgard occasionally to see his favorite mortal couple.
"Hey, Narugami." Loki interrupted the god's thoughts.
Staring at the mortal, his uncle in a different lifetime, Narugami sighed. "Yeah?"
"Avoid Mayura. She's still out to get you."
Grinning, Narugami crossed his arms. "Loki, did you decide to name the kids Narfi and Vali?"
The detective rolled his eyes. "Where did you get those names? No, they're not."
"Good." Narugami saluted with his wooden sword and headed off to his favorite part-time job...being the god of thunder.
