"Hello, Jack."
Jack was on his feet in an instant, reaching for a gun that wasn't there. His eyes met two equally dark brown ones and a man that looked like an older version of himself. "Oh my..."
The man smiled. "Hello, Jack. It's been a while."
"I knew I drank a bit last night, but I didn' realize I drank tha' much. You've been dead since I was six."
"At least you remember me," the ghost said.
"Jonathan Sparrow, captian o' yer own ship till ye met me mum and decided to throw all that freedom away. Moved to England on the trust ye 'ad with 'er and 'er family and 'er father 'ung ye. I remember," Jack growled.
Jonathan looked at his boots. "I'm sorry, Jack. I really meant to be there for you and your mother...."
"Well if ye'd thought about it ye shoulda known 'er father was no good." Jack sighed. "Or mayhaps it was just ye were too good, eh?"
Jonathan smiled sadly. "You've done well for yourself, Jack."
The captain shrugged. "'m a captain of me own ship."
His father nodded. "I've been watchin' over you the best I can, Jack," he said quietly. "Saw ye go to my grave yesterday. Who's the pretty lady that ye brought back?"
Jack grinned roguishly. "Ana Maria?" He laughed. "Crew says we're all but married."
"You love her?"
"More than anythin'." Jack paused. "If ye've been watchin' so long, why 'ad't ye done anythin'? With Richard an' everythin'. Ye coulda 'aunted 'im into leavin' me along as a lad, couldtcha?"
Jonathan looked troubled. "I couldn't get to you before now, and as it is I'm loosing contact."
"'ow long ye 'ave?"
"Just this moment." Jonathan pulled his son into an embrace, startling the pirate captain. "You're a good man, Jack, and for that I'm proud."

"Jack?"
Jack stirred from his sleep, tears standing in his eyes. He turned to see Ana leaning over him from her side of the bed. "S'okay, luv. Jus' dreamin'." He gave her a roguish grin as he reached up and kissed her. "Love ye, Ana."
She smiled and returned the kiss. "I love you too, Jack."
