You once told me nothing was inevitable.
You were wrong.
It happens every day.
Doesn't the sun always set every night? Doesn't it rise again in the morning? Summer nights become colder and turn into winter nights. Winter days warm to sweltering heated afternoons.
We are certainly not them. We are us. And there is most certainly an us. I went to what seemed like the end of the world and back again for you, and I would do it all over again. In a heartbeat. Even quicker than that. You don't want to say it now, but you would do the same for me. I know it, and you know it.
We are not them. Maybe it was inevitable for them, maybe it wasn't. We'll never know. But it's inevitable for us.
Why?
Because I love you. And you love me. And we're too stubborn to say or do anything. So we'll each wait patiently on the sidelines, waiting for the other to make their move. But we won't. Something will force us together. It might be a long night on the job, it might be a snarky comment I make, it might even be a glare you throw my way.
Inevitability happens every day. We've both come too close to the end of life that we one day will both inevitability face. So I'll be here, waiting, until that inevitable moment that happens where we both show our feelings we're hiding. Inevitably, it will happen.
Not everything is inevitable. But not everything is evitable, either.
A/N: My muse is back! Kinda… I'm sorry for my hiatus. I haven't had any lately inspiration, and college likes kicking my butt. Anyway, the back story for this little ditty is a funny. I was sitting in Ancient Greek Poetry (you read right, I translate ancient Greek Poetry into English!), and we were discussing inevitability, and whether it exists. My professor exclaimed, "Of course it does!" The paragraph discussing the sun and the seasons is paraphrased from what he said in class. Of course, being the geeky Tiva fan I am, I immediately went back to season 5 in my head.
This is meant to be read extremely roughly. I purposely made grammatical errors and repeated words to give it that feel like Tony is almost yelling. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it!
