Please no flames. this is my very first attempt in a fanfiction. Any pointers in improving would be much appreciated.
Darkness was the only thing one could see for miles, Naruto flew through the trees trying to put as much distance as possible from Sasuke. He was wondering how they ended up like this. They used to be so close he even had some feelings for that raven. But even the best dreams had a loophole and he fell for it. Sasuke was just trying to get his trust and after that trade him for Itachi because he was the Nine-Tail vessel. Naruto felt a tear slipped pass his eyelid. He would have given up everything if Sasuke wanted him to, it still have not change. Mustering all his courage, he came to a decision. Naruto led Sasuke to the Valley of the End. Chuckling a bit as he saw the irony in the situation.
This was the second time they battled here. Sasuke met up with him secretly since no one in Konoha was willing to have a missing nin back with them. The Rookie Nine tried to persuade the villagers but in the end their effort was in vain. One by one, The Rookie Nine gave up hope. Only Naruto continued on.
Naruto made some signs and created a whole horde of shadow clones. But with no killing intention, Sasuke wiped out the clones with ease.
"If you attack me with this kind of standard, you will never win." Sasuke snarled at Naruto.
Naruto smiled sadly. "Maybe I don't want to win." He responded
"Then surrender yourself and let me catch you" Sasuke then charge at full speed with his katana at hand.
Naruto also made a weak attempt at blocking it. The sword stabbed him at a vital spot. As he saw his life fluid flows out of the wound, he knew that his time was nearly up. Gathering up his strength, he decided if he was going to die, he might as well confess his feelings to the raven.
"I've always wanted to tell you this" Naruto weakly muttered, feeling his energy slowly ebbed away from him. "I love you Sasuke. Till death and beyond it. Forever." He had finally said it. Naruto felt peace and made a weak attempt to smile just before he died.
Sasuke P.O.V
Sasuke stared at the body of his dead friend. He could not comprehend what Naruto had just said in his dying moments. He could not believe it. The love of his life that he was force to believe was unrequited, in his dying moments clarify that it was in fact requited. he gaze at Naruto's lifeless body, a strong surge of sadness and regret overwhelmed Sasuke. Tears prickled his eyes as an anguished cry tore his throat.
He killed the one person who stood by him through thick and thin and the one he held feelings for. His scream was heard by every creature near the Valley of the End. They felt the pain of the owner of the voice and some started to weep. Sasuke cried till the point that no tears were left to shed but that was and never will be enough to extinguish his pain. He was too late to realize Naruto's true feeling to him. If he had realized sooner, would their life been different?
Now he has to live in regret of never being able to hear his Sunshine's "I love you" ever 's eternal night has come just as the real sun had just risen to welcome a new day...
