The knocking on her window startled her awake. The moment she opened her eyes to the dark room the cold bit into her like a hunters trap on the leg of a fox. "Nice thought." She half grunted as she stumbled to the window, not thinking about anything but crawling into bed again. "I thought I closed the damn thing last…"

Her words trailed off as she was suddenly jolted awake by the scene outside her second-story bedroom window.

Half smiling, her bemused eyes sparkling, she quietly unlatched the window lock. The intruder smiled an almost murderous smile that threatened to melt her, despite the biting cold.

"I should have know you were to come" she cooed, obviously delighted at the stranger's presence. "I've been waiting for…"

"Hush"

The stranger's voice was raspy, but not hard. His voice had the power to silence her with one single word. His voice was strong, deep, and strangely compelling. His voice was nothing short of beautiful, to those who could truly listen.

"I'm not here for you, you should know that by now."

"But what about fate, what about our destiny…?"

She was cut off once again by the intruder. His disdainful stares and haughty attitude told her that something had changed. Something was wrong [with her L] and she didn't like it.

Obviously close to tears, she hysterically tried again to reach him, "What about you and me L? What about that closeness we shared? What about our bond - we were meant to be!"

But her efforts were in vain.
