Following to Utopia
She didn't care so much about a utopia. She did however care for him and that was why she followed him, even after he got that idea into his head. The idea for a utopia. To fix the world as it was. To create the perfect place.
She didn't care so much what sort of place it was, so long as she could still look to him in it. Perhaps even stand beside him.
So she followed him. And was followed in turn, but she didn't pay too much attention to that until the one she looked towards drifted away. And her heart ached. And the one who followed her grated at her nerves because it wasn't him she wanted. It was the angel drifting further and further out of reach.
So she worked even harder towards that utopia. Because maybe if she achieved that, he would stand before her again. Or maybe even beside her.
But in the meantime there was the one who followed him – who slowly became more tolerable, and more dear.
