Fukai Mori

Hi, everyone this is my tendershipping fanfic, based on the song Fukai Mori, by Do as Infinity. They're a great band, check them out. Written from Bakura's POV. Anything in italics is lyrics from Fukai Mori.

I was too exhausted to continue, my feet dragged on the dirt floor of the forest, leaves and twigs snapping underneath. Somewhere in my heart I knew that Ryou was gone, but my mind doesn't want to admit it. Yami had told me that ancient powers lived in this very forest, that would bring Ryou back from the dark abyss, humans called death, but I was beginning to doubt that such things existed, my faith grows weaker and weaker.

I'm sure that the heart I left behind

Still lies hidden in the heart of the deep, deep forest

Exhausted without the strength to search

People vanish into the infinite darkness

If it's so small I wonder if I can see it even now?

While I live on, Ryou lays cold within the ground. I seem to lose a bit more of myself every minute I live without him. Just look at me now, I'm chasing a fairy tale, that my worst enemy had told me about. I just wanted to hold on. Unable to run to Ryou with all my fears and doubts, I remained frozen in the time Ryou had been warm, right beside him. While his heart had still beat.

As we live on

we lose a little bit more

Shrouded in falsehoods and lies

Morning turned into afternoon, and afternoon into evening. One day quickly turned into two, and time began to blur for me. The skies still remained azure, though the skies of my mind were clouded in self doubt, and misery. I have to move on, Ryou would have wanted this. I know he'd want me to live again. Maybe over time my broken heart will heal. If I could take the time back, I could live once again.

The days pass by and change,

without us even realizing how blue the sky really is

Overcoming that made up scheme, we live in the present

and our rusted hearts begin to beat again

If we can find the rhythm of time

We can fly once again

Time was running out for me, and I know I don't have much longer. Angels embrace me and make me stronger. If I end my life here, we can be together once again. I can't live my life wandering and looking for you, I have to be with you, no matter what it takes. So as my light fades from my body and my soul cries out for you. I believe in you. Take me away, with you.

In search of the light

I can see a silhouette, he's an angel with ivory wings and a pristine smile. My heart skips a beat, and then fades as he takes my hand and leads me away. I look back bewildered, my spirit has left my body. I'm flying now, I've caught the rhythm of time. With my angel, my everything, my Ryou. The gates to the living are closing, and I'm smiling. I've chosen my path, to be with you. It's all I ever dreamed about, it's all I'll ever need. Now I can walk eternity with you, by your side. Right where I belong.
