Season 3 – On the Horizon
Running through the tall, razor sharp grass, cries as loud as a banshee were echoing. "GREER!" shouted a male voice. There was a pause and then another excruciating cry "GREER!". The sound of heavy military boots hitting the floor one after the other echoed almost as loud as the cries, body parts impacting the grass. Another cry "GODDAMN IT GREER ! IM GONNA KILL YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH". The heavy boots slowed. Silence. No more cries. No more heavy boots, just the sound of the wind blowing the grass back to it's original stance.
Young stood with his back facing the tall grass. His breathing had begun to slow. Tears began to stream down his face as he overlooked Greer standing over a still body. As he focused on the lifeless body Greer began to talk.
"I've been waiting for you" he said with a smirk. He slowly waved his gun at Young, almost taunting him. "It had to be done Sir." He said looking down at the body. She should have died a long time ago." He added with sadness in his voice.
Greer crouched down next to the woman lying on the floor and stroked the side of her face.
"So much talent. Wasted." He said as he stood up.
With tears still streaming down his face, Young began to walk towards the woman's body. As he reached her he fell down to his knees and cupped her head in his hands.
"I'm sorry" He whispered in her ear, quiet enough so that Greer couldn't hear.
"So... hows this gonna work... you beat me up and leave me on this planet, just like Rush?" Greer said. Young lifted his head slightly and glared at Greer. He quickly rose up and slapped the gun out of Greer's hand. In one motion he tackled Greer to the ground and got him in a military style headlock. Greer choked but managed to get out a struggled laugh.
"You think that killing me will...will make everything better to deal with?" Greer struggled.
"No. This is vengeance." Young stated.
"You think TJ would want this huh?" Greer struggled once again.
How dare he say her name. After everything he had done. Anger flared up inside him but he couldn't stand to look at the soldier who he had once treat like a son, he couldn't look into his eyes as he chocked him.
Young looked out on the horizon his eyes fixated on the sun. Everything around him seemed to go dark until all he could see was a light. The light got brighter and all of a sudden he felt cold. His whole body was cold, almost as though he'd been in a freezer for hours on end. He turned his head to look around, Greer and the body of TJ was no longer there, all he could see was darkness. A whooshing noise and something opening caught his attention. As he began to fall he felt arms all around him. Then, nothing but darkness again.
Thanks for taking the time to read. It really does mean a lot. Please review.
