A/N: I feel like I'm cheating you, Mack. This was one of the first stories I posted and I wanted to redo it with you in it :o). You deserve it girly.

He had told her that she'd been the best thing to come in his life. She appreciated that a lot, knowing that he changed his ways just to please her. It wasn't like she forced him to, he just didn't want to disappoint her. Mack and Adam. They were described as the perfect couple by their friends. It almost sickened them at how perfect their relationship was. They didn't know the sadness she felt when they were apart. Now, she was alone, in their big beautiful home while he was on the road doing his job of putting himself in danger every night.

Trying to pass the time before he arrived home tonight, she started cleaning. She was excited that he was coming home. She was in the kitchen washing a dish while singing a song quietly to herself. She then took a glance up and stopped and looked at the reflection in the window above the sink. She was smiling. He made her feel that way. Just the thought of him with his tattooed arms around her and her fingers playing with his long wavy blonde locks made her get butterflies. MacKenzie then thought of how she felt when he wasn't home. She would feel lonely and almost depressed. She only wanted someone to be with her all the time, not 3 days at a time and then not seeing him again for another few weeks.

She stopped what she was doing and went into the bedroom that they hardly ever shared together. Tears quickly filled her eyes as she lay her head on her pillow. The make up that she spent time doing to make herself look presentable to him began running down her face leaving streaks of black. She felt the sadness of him being away more than the happiness of him being home.

The sound of the door opening made her sit up quickly and wipe away the tears.

"Mack, you home?" Adam yelled, his voice echoing off the walls.

She walked down the long staircase stopping at the bottom trying to hide the tear stained and bloodshot eyes her crying left.

"Hey," She said to him quietly.

"You been crying?" He asked walking towards her and putting his arms around her shoulders.

"No," She said trying to hide her face again.

"You're a horrible liar, you know that?" He told her kissing the top of her head.

He then sat on the bottom step patting the space beside him for her to sit down.

"Tell me what's wrong." He told her softly looking in her eyes.

"I don't know about any of this anymore." She told him, her voice weak and tears on the brink of returning.

"What do you mean?" He asked confused, wiping the single tear that escaped her eye.

"You're just gone all the time, and it hurts, Adam. I know you're job is your passion and I just can't help to feel that I deserve to see you more than this. I just get so sick of crying. I don't want to leave, but I think it would be for the best." She told him.

"I had a feeling it might come to this. We've been through so much together. Don't give up on me now. I know how you feel. Every time I leave I get upset about leaving you here alone. I don't like to be away all the time by myself either." He told her, pressing his forehead to hers.

"I'd never give up on you." Mack replied after a few minutes of silence.

"Good. I'd hate myself if I couldn't make you happy." Adam told her.

"Yeah?" She asked.

"Of course. Promise you won't leave?" He asked her giving her a look that she almost couldn't resist.

"Promise." She told him.
