Phoenix
As it sings its eerie song,
The song oh so sweet
It glides through the air; wings large and strong,
It does more than just a tweet.
It glows against the dark sky; pitch black,
Far off, it looks like a bright orange flame
With fiery feathers across its body and back,
Each bird is different, oh; never the same.
It is oh so beautiful, and even more rare,
It can lift great things many times its weight
If people are lucky enough, they would stop and stare,
At this wondrous beast; that is so great.
It can heal deadly wounds with just its tears,
It is oh majestic, courageous and brave
There are many things that it does not fear,
They are loyal, wouldn't hesitate to help; to save.
Then, when it is their time to go, their body starts to burn,
'Til there is nothing but ash; where they now lay
But soon, they are reborn; a body starts to turn,
Then they fly away, the sun rising for a new day.
Fly away, wise, beautiful Phoenix, fly, fly,
No need for you to worry when you die.
