Wild Family
Running through the green grass and bushy brush,
Rushing past the large towering trees
Under our paws the dead leaves crunch and crush,
My brown hair flowing behind me in the breeze
The thudding of our paws was heard throughout the forest,
As was the hard panting coming from our chests
Our legs and paws were definitely the sorest,
Until we reach the finish, then we'll get some rest
After the race was done, we laid, laughing hard,
It was a three-way tie; now isn't that a shock?
The cluttered trees called a forest was more like our backyard,
The glowing evening sun acts like our own yellow clock
Later in the night, we head out to hunt our meal,
We search long and hard, until we find a lone deer
When we finally catch it, we head back for me to heal,
My brothers were wolves; fierce, while I was a human; only mere
Soon, when we rest for the morning, I sneak down to the nearby river,
Sad, I think about who and where me real family are
The cool night breeze makes my furless body shiver,
As shadows loom over me, I look up, seeing my brothers; both coloured tar
As they lay down beside me, I spill out all my inside feeling,
They stay silent, listening quietly, hearing me out more and more
But as I look at my brother wolves, my head and heart start reeling,
The feeling that my family that I've been thinking of come to shore
My brothers share a knowing look, which I soon mirror in return,
What I felt right then and there, it was certainly not wrong
My heart now feels lighter; it no more needs to burn,
We all lift our heads to the silver moon, all sharing one song
My family has been with me the whole time,
Whether we're different; human or beast
All our hearts beat, sometimes in harmony and rhyme,
Together forever, until we finally rest in peace.
