In Obscurity

Obscurity: darkness; a state of being unknown or inconspicuous

Drip. Drip. Drip.

The cold water from the ceiling was dropping, steadily, rhythmically, in sync with his harsh breathing and the beating of his heart.

Uchiha Sasuke trained his eyes on the dank black wall, ignoring everything else while listening only to the sound of the water droplets. Everything was silent, except for himself and the water.

Silent. And dark.

The silence was bliss to him. After all, it was all he had in Sound. How ironic.

The door slid open, letting a slant of light into the room. He ignored the shift in colour, continuing to stare

"You goddamn bastard…" The shaky voice of the blonde raged.

"Uzumaki Naruto. Stop." Sasuke's voice was hollow, emotionless. It did not even contain a trace of the smirk he had worn so long ago.

"Don't ask me to stop! Look at me, teme!" he screamed, turning Sasuke around forcibly before recoiling in horror.

His left eye was a blank disc of black, completely and utterly devoid of any emotion. His right eye, however, was a deep red colour, with black markings on the outside of the eye. The pupil was non-existent.

He let out a hollow laugh. "Now you know. I can't see you at all."

A/N: This is something I thought of while nearly crazy from exam stress. I might expand it to a multi-chapter fanfic if I get positive feedback about this, or if I get hit by more plot bunnies and decide to continue writing. For now, this stands as a one-shot. Comment? - Sarah
