When he found out that Milah had been there, that she had helped Emma get to him, it had been hard to process. He loved Emma, but Milah had been his first love. She had been his whole heart and his reason to live for so long. If it had not been for his love for her and his need to get revenge for her death. . . he would have never met Emma in the first place. All he knew was that she didn't deserve to become a lost soul. She had been in the Underworld because of her unfinished business. He was sure that her unfinished buisness had been about Bae. Leaving him had been something she had regreted her whole life and she had never even got the chance to tell him that she was sorry.
Now she was gone and there was nothing that any of them could do to stop it. Though Emma had saved him he had requested to stay behind for a moment. He had never truetlly got the chance to say goodbye to her before. And though now he wasn't sure she would recognize him, if she would even be there to hear it. . . he needed to say his goodbyes now.
He knew that Emma would stay close by, in case Hades decided to show up to make him join his former love. Though he figured that what Hades had in store for all of them would perhaps be worse than being thrown into the river of lost souls. He bent down near the water, but was careful to keep good distance, not wanting any souls to decide to try to drag him down with them.
"Milah, . . . I had hoped that you wouldn't be here," he started, his voice already cracking. "I hoped you were at least able to move on. You deserved so much more than this. Than to be stuck in this world. I had spent so long trying to avenge you. . . I feel like I failed. No matter how long you had been gone. . . I never stopped loving you. You had been the only reason I lived as long as I did. The need to make the crocodile pay for taking you. But I found another reason to live. And you met her. You had helped Emma save me and yet we were unable to save you. I can promise you. . . that we will do everything in our power to bring Hades down."
There was a whisper appearing to come from the river, a whisper that he couldn't say was Milah. However he could have swore that he heard the name Rumple being said. His suspicions of the crocodile was always there. He had always doubted that the man was ever donig anything with good intentions. All he cared about was himself. . and Belle. But anyone else that could get in their way. . . he was always willing to dispose of them. He had no proof that the man had anything to do with this, but he would remain suspicious of him. "The crocodile will get his as well. . . . It may not come from me, but I do have experiance with this kind of thing. Villains don't get a happy ending."
